i don’t remember any kissy blah in the book.
That doesn’t mean they won’t do it. What about aragorn and arwen? That wasn’t mentained until the end in the book. |

| Just speculating, it’s not like I would like that either. |

The movie and the book for Eregon were horrible (and not to mention a hacky rip-off of LotR).
I tried to read Eragon a few months back, and it was all right until half-way through, when I realized it could be read as a crappy sequel to the LotR trilogy. Not only was it written sloppily (there was so much boring conversation explaining everything, which is the mark of a novice), but the plot itself was ridiulous.
I saw the movie because I had to have hope that someone could bring a decent element out of the cliche novel. I was thouroughly disappointed.
There’s even more explaining in the movie. If you want me to know how magic is used, show me. If you want me to know the history of Dragon riders, show me. Don’t just have Brom (IE, Gandalf) tell Eragon (IE, Frodo + Aragorn) everything.
And I must say that, at the very least, the book made more sense than the movie. The film had Eragorn go straight to the Varda, which just isn’t rational. I mean, if they’re so secretly hidden, how can Brom - someone who obviously hasn’t been around them in a number of years - just know where they are? And how can Galbatorix know where they are?
I wanted to hurl during the end "battle." It sucked, plain and simple. In fact, every scene was just as bad as that last one. I left the movie theatre knowing beyond a doubt that I had wasted $8.
Sorry for the rant; I just really hate fantasy writers (especially young ones who obviously relish the cliche) ripping off Tolkien’s works. |
