LCJK makes a good point. Within a month, the LOTRO program will be finished, and so the players whose only avenue to experience the game is online will be shut out of the game. Allowing SDA discussion will keep the game going further and, as people experience the new cards, this could increase sales for Cobra.

The legality of the program is a sticky issue, but frankly, I think Decipher has more important things to worry about.

Not to mention, this is an Open FOrum, so people ARE free do discuss whatever they want, and Cobra shouldn’t be blamed unless he encourages it (so no downloading SdA, or creating sections for it, etc.) It’d be even better if there was only a topic at the Member’s Lounge (where you don’t "moderate" that much), and created by one of the younger members, not in any kind of roster within the site. Except that, specially after Age’s End is released (so they won’t have sales anymore anyway), I think it could be a good way to keep the forums and the Community alive. Of course, we’d lose MTG players... Razz

I’m not sure it’s correct to say that the problems associated with SdA will go away in the near future:

Well, the fact that "all digital sales will end" is a rather big death knoll for the online game. No card purchases = no new players. So anyone wishing to play the online game for the next 3 years will need to make all their purchases before July 1st, or trade cards with existing players.
