I’ve been in a few small fender benders in my *cough* short lifetime (young person that I am  ). None of them were life threatening, just annoying.
My mother, however, had a rather shocking accident about 8 years ago. She was doing about 60 on a freeway (in the States, not here in the UK). There was a van pulled over at the side of the road. While she was passing by the van, a man got out of it - right in front of my mother’s car. He died instantly and ended up in her lap. My mother received many cuts and bruises, but luckily no serious injuries. She was later informed by the police that the man’s blood alcohol level was .26, which explains why he did such a stupid (and sadly, deadly) thing. My mother still has nightmares about it.

Sorry to hear about the accident, BtO! The only car accident I can remember being in is when sometime hit the back of my mom’s car, but it wasn’t a big crash or anything; just a small dent on the bumper.

Statistics say everyone has an accident every 10 years or so. So just consider yourself good for the next 9 years or so.
