Hey guys, I’m really sad to say this, but I may be leaving the cobracards forums.

It’s all this group silliness. That’s what it is, quite frankly, silliness and immaturity. I’m not saying groups are a bad idea, far from it, but what they’ve become, I just can’t agree with.

For a looooong time now, we’ve had members of one group going at the throats of members of another group, and it’s just stupid. One group calling the other group "lesser" than they are, and the other group saying, well, pretty much the same thing. Members are going agaisnt and insulting the character of other members, mostly because of misconcieved statements and things other people said.

You know, every day, wherever we go, be it school, or work, we see people putting other people down. And it’s STUPIPD. I don’t go to school every day just to have people put me down and to put other people down, only to come home and get on this site to see people doing the same thing. I said to PP when he was ranting about cobra that these were some of the nicest people I’d ever met. But now I’m thinking that may only be by default. There are plenty of good people on here, but some of the members I have admired and respected since the start have frankly astounded me. And I’m not just talking about AC here. There are many more people who I thought were great members, and at first I thought were a lot older than they really wrere. But now almost everyone who is a member of these groups has been dragged down until I can barely believe who these people are.

Why is it so hard for everyone just to be nice?

Now, these groups have good IDEAS, true, but they’re like communism. Good idea, but not working without some major improvements. I remember how these clubs got started: branching off of an "Who wants AP ousted?" club. Don’t try and tell me there were good ideas behind that.

I know I was about to be put into the Elite, and I’d still love to be, but not unless we can fix this.

Hey, I’m sorry to say all of this, and I’d love to stay, but I really CANT, if all this keeps going on. I’d love groups to stay, and for everyhting to be okay, but it ISNT.

Please somebody prove me wrong. If no one does, thanks for the good times, and I hope you all see better.

I will be on (I can’t find a better place to by my cards, after all) and won’t go around other places slandering this site, even if I do have to leave.

I think AC summed it up best when he said "Quality, not quantity." Well, here’s how I see it: It doesn’t matter about the quantity of groups you are in, but the quality of the person you are.

I do agree that some of the group stuff is going too far. The CCC has several members that will stop at nothing to try and prove that the CCC is better than the Elite, and I may have gotten a bit too enthusiastic in my replies to their arguments.

The solutions are probably as follows:

A) Disband all groups, because some people have serious issues about who’s group is better.
B) Quit the arguing about groups. This could be hard for a couple people (I won’t mention any names, but I think everyone knows who I’m talking about)
C) Ban the people who most at fault for the arguing.
D) Other

Any suggestions for D?

I’m kinda in favor of A...

I don’t think banning members is nececarry, although disbanding groups is definately an option (Venom has been inactive, and the R-P group really doesn’t have a purpose, no groups at all would be an option).

We’ve already tried to just quit arguing, and that hasn’t worked. But since the CCC and the Elite actually have good purposes, I’d hate to lose that altogether...

People could make their own groups... it wouldn’t matter.

See right here you are promoting argument this is the main problem with the groups right here. you promote argument and I get angry with you insulting me and start arguing back and it escaltes and escalates.

A no groups can do good.
b yes as Gn suggested a while ago have ZERO tolerance for group arguing.
C if we lost me BtO you and AP we would lose 4 good posters so don’t do that..(Don’t even THINK about replying to that last sentence.)

Well, thanks for saying that, SoP, and I’m honored. AC is right that the CCC have some very outspoken members, and it is undenyable that the Elite has some as well. And that is okay, to an extent.

I like GN’s no tolerance policy a lot, actually. If you can insult people in groups, you can get out of them.
