Your thanks is appreciated, but as of right now the new anti-spam measure appears to be ineffective. I’ll be researching and putting some stronger measures into place, hopefully later tonight...

Quick update on this issue...
A new anti-spam measure, simple but apparently very effective, went into place right before Christmas to prevent bots from registering accounts. Since then there has been, to my knowledge, no more spam.
This battle is never fully won, though. As spambots get more sophisticated, and/or our community grows large enough to attract manual spammers, we may have to deal with this issue again. So keep an eye out and let me or a moderator know if you see a post that needs our attention.

Yeah I’ve been promoted to Spam-bot!

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |

As soon as he starts promoting the latest herbal supplement, online casino or bank or linking to inappropriate web-sites, we’ll be able to shut him down... until then our hands are tied. |
