Is anybody excited for 300? I know I am! But in school it seems only the guys were interested in it... the general thing I heard from girls were "I don’t see why it’d be any good" etc, etc. Hmph. I wonder if they know all the guys are wearing nothing but helmets, capes, and leather speedos... But anyway, I’ve heard things like "it’s being hailed as the greatest movie going experience of the decade" and even that it will have the impact on the movie industry in a very similar as to how The Matrix did.
Gah,
One more day, one more day, one more day...

| It’s a very interesting story, although I don’t exactly like the title. It makes it sound like some sort of a thriller, or a sci-fi movie. Like...you had Se7en, Thr3e, Numb3rs, 23...yeah, number movies don’t really venture into myth/Greek history all that much. |

Yey, just saw it yesterday, and it was great!
We didn’t have all those orcs in Greece though...
Seriously, it was a nice production, made me feel i’m proud to be Greek, but it had nothing to do with reality. It even had Mumaks in... |

The historical story has always facsinated me. The Spartans were some tough sons of _____s, and nowhere is that more exemplified than at Thermopylae.
However, I’m not so sure about this movie. I’d prefer a less...uh...modernized telling of the tale.
Maybe I’m wrong about, so I plan to see it eventually, just not sure if that will be in theaters. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

I’m telling you, it had orcs and mumaks! Otherwise, it was perfect... |

Wow, I loved this movie!!
For the record, I found the nudity to be well used (except for maybe in the xerxes persuading the hunch-back of notre dame seen... that was a little over the top...) and I don’t think the blood was too overly used, people bleed a lot when they die.
However, I didn’t like the orcs and mumaks, etc. The story of the Spartans didn’t need mythical creatures to make it better.. it’s already excellent. With that being said, it was well done, even with random creatures (goat headed pipe player ftl...) I also enjoyed the modern music put to the ancient setting, I’ve always been a fan of such things.
Definitely worth seeing, unless you’re sensitive to blood and nudity.
Overall one of my favorites for sure.
