Well...I found by making parody cards that we have a LOT of debaters on here. So, I was wondering if you all would be able to post what league you’re in, what region, maybe your name, what year you debated, what cases you ran, etc.
Name: Nicholas Barden (Usually don’t disclose my name online, but someone figured out my last name and I had already posted my first name...wonder how that happened...)
League: NCFCA
Region: 5
State: Kansas
Year/Res: ’05-’06/Medical Malpractice. Sitting out NATO ’cause I don’t have a partner (old one graduated). Be back ’07-’08. (Hopefully)
Case: Loser Pays. Only not loser pays. We ran an atypical LP case that didn’t touch frivolous lawsuits. And since it didn’t, nobody had any evidence to refute our case. Funny to see people trying to link our harms to frivolous lawsuits so they could bash us...call it a squirrelly Loser Pays.
Other Info: Ransom was my partner. Broke at state, made it to regions, broke at regions, missed nats on a split ballot...beat by a team who couldn’t go...
Also, DO NOT mention caps to me unless you want me to get mad. CAPS ARE EVIL! Unless you’re talking about an abolish caps counterplan. Those are fun Couldn’t get my partner to let me run one...
I’m assuming that all the NCFCA debaters are from region 5, cause I haven’t met one who plays LotR that isn’t. In fact, I think all the NCFCA LotR players are from Kansas and Missouri.
Anyway, start posting! |

Add the popcorn smiley to your sig, help it achieve world domination.
What if the hokey pokey really IS what its all about?
As I lay in bed staring at the stars last night, I thought to myself, "where the heck is the ceiling?"

Name: I prefer to keep secret
League: NFL
Region: No clue...I’m in the Sunflower District
State: Kansas
Years/Rezzes: Last two years (Civil liberties Rez and Nat’l Service Rez)
Case: Conscripting criminal community service sentences into National Service. I don’t think I ever ran it, though...
Other Info: Won one tournament when I debated with one of the better second-year debaters on our squad (coincidentially, she’s also in the running for Valedictorian, is Acting School President, and was elected Homecoming Queen, but that’s all unrelated. ) Other than that, I pretty much sucked it up. But it was fun.
Speedreading, stupid topicality, generic DAs, and kritiks are evil. |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |

Region, State, Year, Case are all the same as NBarden. (I was his partner)
Other Info: In medical malpractice, there seems to be a distinct relationship between cases that work and ones that politicians try to implement. If it works, politicians hate it. If it doesn’t, they try to implement it. |

Name: I’ll skip that, but I think some of you might know me...
League: NCFCA
Region: 5
State: KS
Year/Res: 01-02 all the way to now. I’m going next year, too.
Agriculture Policy
Trade Policy (Middle East & Africa)
US Protectorates
Energy Policy
Medical Malpractice Law
NATO
Cases:
01-02: Frankenfish, Sonic Bloom
02-03: Israeli Arms
03-04: Korean Tripwire Withdrawal
04-05: Saudi embargo and NPRA drilling
05-06: Florida NICA
06-07: That’s still classified...
Other info:
The past 3 years, I’ve accidentally stumbled upon cases that no-one has ever heard of; they aren’t even in any (and I mean ANY) sourcebooks; not the BlueBook, not Plethora, not "PKB," or any of the others. And then people go and do stuff like buy $12 articles off the web titled "12 reasons not to implement NICA," and if you actually read the article and do the research, you find that every one of the reasons is either irrelevant, or actually supports NICA.... Same for the other wierd cases. Great fun. |
