I have two roommates who are not keeping up with the bills, forcing me to pick up the slack. They’ve racked up a large debt with me, and I’m just not sure how this is going to resolve.
And it doesn’t help that one of them has been stealing things from my brother.

Hey, you only have a few more months before you go off to the AF, right? I don’t suppose you could just let all the debt drop on them when you "disappear" to CA...

Sounds like time to sue.
This is from a guy who wants to be a lawyer, BTW. And a politician. And an F/A-22 pilot.
But anyway, threaten a lawsuit. That should shape them up. If they’ve been stealing, call the cops! You’re to nice, and that hurts you. Sometimes you gotta be mean. |

| Small-claims court just might be an option. But make sure you cover your bases, and scrounge up enough stuff for proof. If you can have stuff to prove they’ve been shoving you around, and stealing, small-claims court just might work. |

Well I got them to sign a paper that listed how much each of them owe me. It was dated and marked as well as I could manage.
*If* they can’t/don/t pay up, it should be enough. |
