If you don’t already know, I am an active member of Empire Earth online community, also one of the most known scenario builders... I started the production team known as Up All Night Productions scenario building team. Known for some of the best scens on Empire Earth worldwide. This team was only started a year ago now, and it has already become a international favorite for many. (see sig)

Now I would like to ask the Cobra community to help me come up with some ideas in our newest scenario. Oh, and please take this seriously, this scenario will most likely be played thousands of times by all UANP fans.

I am looking for names to use for each player in the game...
I choose the Cobra community for this task because I know that everybody here is really good at coming up with fun and original names. I do not want common Lord of the Rings names.

Rather, I would like to find names that match each character with maybe a backround or meaning. I do not have storylines to go with each character yet, but I WILL need them for the scenario. Even the title of the scen is not final.

The Quest
A 6 player adventure game

These 6 men will be the main characters of this new adventer/fighting game.
As they kill enemy units, they will get gold.
Gold can be used in the game to buy upgrades to attack/range/hitpoints.
The game will include many dangerous encounters and many alternate routes to choose from, each with its’ own pros/cons.

Our first member of this fellowship is a character like that of Gandolf.
He is a wizard with the power to turn any enemy unit into his ally.
He cannot fight himself, but he converts weak enemies into his force.
He also has the power to heal any member of the fellowship.

Our second member of the fellowship is like that of Boromir.
He is a strong unit with the best melee attack and hit points.
He has a battlecry that demoralizes the enemy in battle.
He later gets his breast plated armor during the scenario.

The third member of the fellowship is like that of Sauramon.
He is a wizard with the power to range attack with his staff.
He has some melee combat, but his best weapons are from a distance.
He starts off with a dagger and later gets his staff during the scenario.

The fourth member of the fellowship is like that of a Rohirrim Guard.
He is a talented member of the fellowship with strong attack melee.
He has the power to freeze enemy units from a short distance.
He starts out of foot but may mount on his horse later in the game.

The fifth member of the fellowship is like that of Legolas.
He is a highly skilled bowman with long range and high attack.
He has the power of flaming arrows, lighting the torches in caves/marshes.
He later meets up with his brother during the scen and they fight alongside.

Elrohir and Elladan?

The last member of the fellowship is like that of Gimli.
He has very powerful armor with high hitpoints for good melee combat.
The power to temporarily increase his melee attack, taking away some hp.
He later gets upgraded armor with almost invincible hitpoints.

Now, I ask the Cobra community to see what they can come up with.
Storylines to go with opening and starting settings
Names for each of the individuals
    Additional adventures/plots
    Any other ideas/comments

Thank you. I will check back later to see what you guys think.

Name: Rallair
Storyline: He’s come to bring the heroes along on a quest. He’s bought Tirgan to accompany him on the quest, to protect the fellowship...and with a hope of redeeming his honor.

Quote:

Name: Tirgan the Valiant
Storyline: He comes from the beginning, as a hired warrior brought along to help the quest-initiater. As the story goes along, he learns to gain honor, and to face the circumstances that brought him to this state: a false accusation that made him flee from his village.

Quote:

Name...Eltarian.
Opening storyline: I don’t know how much of your storyline is set, but how about his being the member of an order like the White Council, except that he committed a great offense against them? Now, he has to redeem himself by helping the Fellowship. So he could come upon them in an early scenario, keeping his history hidden.
More plots: One of his fellow "wizards" is stalking the group, and desires to bring vengeance upon him for the offence. Maybe...the offence is causing the death of one of the order? That would be interesting...

Name: Hlostan
Storyline: A close friend of Rallair, who was called by him to help with the quest. He doesn’t trust Tirgan, and is hostile towards him, and even disdainful of him, because Tirgan is a mercenary.

Quote:
The fifth member of the fellowship is like that of Legolas.
He is a highly skilled bowman with long range and high attack.
(He will have another power, I just do not know what yet)
He later meets up with his brother during the scen and they fight alongside.

Elrohir and Elladan?

Name: Illast
Storyline: He is seperated from his brother when they’re both attacked by a treacherous band of elves. Severely wounded, he is found by the dwarf (see below), who tends to his wounds. Rallair’s party stumbles across them, and heals Illast. He then desires vengeance against the elves who wounded him.

Quote:

He has very powerful armor with high hitpoints for good melee combat.
(He also will have another power, I just do not know what yet)
He later gets upgraded armor with almost invincible hitpoints.

Name: Drorran
Storyline: A roaming warrior, he comes across Illast, and protects him while inexpertly tending to his wounds. The two become fast companions, and they would do anything to protect each other.

That was fun...thanks!

CarpeGuitarrem, this is why I came to Cobra for help. I am not much of a game plot designer. I am known for my maps and complicated trigger systems. Thank you, and I am still looking forward to more ideas from others.

EDIT: (I added the powers of the last two members)

I am hopeing to make this my best scen yet, so I am picky about the quality and thought that goes into this.
As for the storylines, CarpeGuitarrem has a pritty good idea, but here is what I mean by a storyline...

Most scenarios on EE are just massive carnage with armies constantly being tasked to collide head on with little thought. Some have attempted to create a quest scen only to have it die out because it didnt have enough thought and the right triggers put into it. I just started on a month long project to build a map for a new version to blow the socks off the rest of em. Yes, the map will take at least a month.

I want a small storyline that will be explained to each member of the quest at the start, and a name that might go with that story. As the game continues, I can add storyline features here and there.

Just for an idea of the size of this scenario.
Take these and times it by 2 or 3...

This map took me 8 hours to finish: RISK
It is actually much more square than that, the picture just squeezes it alot.

This map took me 15 hours to finish: Middle Earth
This was my second map. For a scenario called "Minas Tirith"

I plan on putting some 100 hours into this new map.

Okay, so you basically want a scenario for the characters to follow? How long? Is it going to be a scenario you can complete in like 2-3 hours, or a day after day scenario that drags on and on?

Here’s what you need. You got a lot of names, and that’s great. So, just have a bunch of objectives that need to be accomplished, right?

Ok, I put alot of thought into the primary plot of this campaign.
The six warriors are sent on a quest from their king. Their homeland is threatened by a powerful enemy, and the king wants them to seek and assasinate the evil lord that threatens their land.

2-3 hours
I would like to be longer than this though:

They start off on a road at the edge of the map...

....A long way from home.

Your homeland of Antea has been threatened by a powerful dark lord. Your king has tasked you and your party on a quest to seek and destroy this evil master.

Along the side of the road not far from the start is a woman and a house...

Warriors from the realm of Antea.
You must be here on account of the growing evil that is apon us.
It is spreading swiftly far and wide.

Follow the river and it will bring you to the Fort Tutela.

Along the way the attacks start from the forests. At Fort Tutela the party meets a man, a citizen perhaps.

Travellers,
i see you have been attacked. For weeks now this land has been plagued with this evil.
The power of the dark lord grows with each land he conquers.

Rumor has it, the land of Antea was completely overrun.

The party continues on it’s quest and until it comes to the City of Collis.

(here there will be a reason to go off and find something or open something, and they will have to walk back through the town to continue.)
Walking back into the town, they see that is has been destroyed.
Houses will be burning, nobody will be left alive (maybe 1 person to tell a story), and a wall will be destroyed leading into a dark marsh.

They will walk through the marsh, a dead forest, and through another completely destroyed town, the Town of Bustum, being attacked now and then along the way.

A long walk through mountains and canyons will bring them up into the back of a large fortress on a hill. Here the people will be restless and bracing for an attack. Looking over the walls, there will be a huge army marching in with giant trolls and catapults.

After using the upgrades and majic they have developed throught the first half of the scenario, they will destroy the army and continue on into dark caves. In the caves will be caverns, tombs, and cliffs with lava below. Of course there will be many villains, trolls, and uber strong bosses.

Do you have any ideas? This is most of what I have so far for a plot.
A few ideas like a diplomat handing armor and weapons to them or the bowman meeting up with his brother during the scen were scratched because I completely changed my plot to a more dramatic and intense theme. I could still incorporate them somewhere, but I am still thinking about when, where, and how.

At the end, I want this scen to HAVE THEIR F’ING ATTENTION!

Please give me better names than this. These are latin and sound Eh?

If the name you give me has a meaning, please tell. Otherwise if you just made it up, coolbeans. Thumbs Up

The names I used have Latin meanings:

Mortalitas - I think it means Threatened or Suseptable to Attack
Trepidus - Restless, Afraid, Uneasy

It’s funny, because I am literally writing a book as I come up with this stuff. I have it like a story, but I want the adventure part to have crossroads and options. It is a cool story tho Wink

and as far as powers go.

Bowman: Flaming Arrow, Poison Arrow
Wizard with shield: Lighting Bolt, Fireball, Blast Attack
Wizard without shield: Converting Power, Healing Power, Shielding Power
Swordman: Battlecry, walks through treelines
Axeman: Fanaticism (speed, attack), Battlecry
Spearman: Freeze Power, (Either friendly moral boost or cavalry mount depending on which unit I choose)
