As I was driving back from work today, i got in an accident,..
They guy in front of me braked when he saw the car in front of him brake...
I saw his brake lights come on but I wasn’t able to stop before a rear-ended him...I was going just below the speed limit of 35 MPH on a fairly busy street.
I did hit my brakes but that didn’t help much..the airbags didn’t go off though so I must not have hit him too hard.
I am very thankful that neither the guy or his wife were hurt, I am feeling fine, but pretty ticked that this happened. I just got my license about 5 weeks ago so having an accident now is NOT what I wanted...
In case your are wondering I was driving a Ford Taurus and I rear-ended a Toyota RAVA. The bumper on our car is totaled hopefully State Farm will pay to have it fixed, instead of just having us look for a new car.
any way I would appreciate any support you guys have, and hearing some other accident stories wouldn’t hurt...

| hmm, I would tell an accident story, but I don’t drive. My uncle, aunt and 2 younger cusins were in a car when a gas got inside and all of the people in the car fell asleep [because of the gas]. They smashed into telephone or some kind of pole. the front of the car was totles. the kids slept throgh it but the parents woke up, very scared. they were not hurt [they might have had brusis, or maybe one broke a bone, i cant remember...]. the kids slept and slep and I do not think that they even know what happened. My aunt and uncle hope that they never knew |

A friend of mine ran through a stoplight and got broadsided by a car on the passenger side of his car. The car was totaled. Scary thing? He had just dropped me off somewhere 5 minutes earlier.
A guy ran through a stoplight and hit my sister’s front bumper. I wasn’t in the car.
A lady had a stroke and rammed in to the back of my dad’s car while it was in the parking lot. Insurance wouldn’t pay because of an Act of God clause.
My sister got in another fender bender some time ago. Don’t remember the circumstances exactly, she wasn’t hurt.
A guy ran into the car into our car in the parking lot while I was in it. That was probably the most serious accident I’ve been in, I had bad back pain for a while after that.
My mom ran the car into a curb. One of the big curbs.
My grandpa backed into a wheelbarrow. which got jammed beneath another car and his.
My mom ran over a bicycle.
I drove through the yard pulling out of the driveway.
This is deteriorating, so I’ll stop now. |

I was travelling at 50 mph down a 3 lane carriageway just before christmas with my then fiancee, taking the rabbit to the vet. I was in the inside lane when an 10 wheel haulage lorry decided he would ignore my existence and cut across from the middle lane. He crushed my car then spun it out in front of him across several lanes of traffic while everyone braked to avoid us then ploughed back into my side and t boned my car. I still dont know how to this day we survived with no injuries. We both thought we were dead. To top it off the guy denied responsibility so I had to threaten id take him to court for his company to pay up on the £3500 insurance claim it cost to fix my car’s bodywork. |

| Cheers Corvus! So am I! Car accidents are bloody scary, i had a kid run out on me once as well, through parked cars and bounced off the side of my car, a split second timing before and id have run him under my wheels. Car accidents are horrible things and i feel sympathy and empathy for BtO. |

Just over two years ago I was involved in a car accident with my friend (and now roommate). He was driving, and I was riding shotgun. At 40mph, we rear-ended an SUV head-on that had stopped to turn left. My seat belt broke from the impact and I had a one-on-one death match with the windshield. I’m pretty sure I won the fight (after all, I’m alive and the car is totaled), but I got seriously beat up. I had glass dug into my forehead, left cheek, and mere millimeters from my left eye. Also, I had a huge gouge in my cheek.
All the glass got removed at the ER, and they did an awesome job of patching me up. With a little plastic surgery a year later (just to polish me up... the scars I’ve got really aren’t that bad) and I’m good as new.
But before y’all say "OMG" or "Wow, that’s terrible" let me say that it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Religious implications aside, the entire ordeal taught me a great deal about living and how great being alive can be.
Now talking religion, I also knew in hindsight that God was right there with me the whole way, making sure I learned what I needed to learn without putting me at death’s door. I mean, I didn’t break a single bone and I didn’t even lose my eye (which is surprising, considering the glass shaved off my eyebrow *and* eyelashes... close call, eh?).
But yeah, I still don’t recommend car accidents for anybody. Never fun, and I’m scared to death of cars now. |

| when my friend was like, pretty young, they were driving along and a deer ran at them and hit the side of the car. The deer went crashing through the window on my friends side and she ad small bits of glass all in her. her face had lots of glass stuck, and she had many pieces in her eyes. every once in a whiole, she will look at her skin and discover new scars from the accident, although is was when she was like, 6 or something, I dont remember. she is okay now. |
