How was everyone’s school finals and tests after their first semester? I got my PSAT scores for my junior year just a week or two ago. I got 3 wrong and so a 231 selection index and 99th percentile, so I’m really hoping and praying that it’ll get me a nice scholarship for college. Next step now is the SAT in May!
Anyways, I’m really excited about my scores! woohoo!

Bah, PSAT. Stinkin’ test nobody tells you to prepare for, and then the people end up getting to be National Merit Semifinalists, and so get all sorts of scholarship offers...bah. (AC, you’re in prime position for that, getting the 99th percentile...nice job!)
At least I can bask in the knowledge that when I took my ACT, the first time around, I scored 34, 35, and 35, which somehow rounded to 35. |

My psat a few months ago did real well. One of the subjects (can’t remember which) got a 99 percentile, and the rest 89% or above. pretty cool.
As for the SAT I took, not so good. I have to re-take it, maybe consider the ACT.
What’s the main difference between the SAT and the ACT? |

SAT tests your ability to think through problems.
ACT tests your knowledge.
AKA, ACT is what you know
SAT is what you understand.
In theory, anyway. I didn’t notice that much of a difference, myself. |

SAT:
Q: Rip Van Winkle fell asleep under a tree. His hair grew 6 inches the first year. How long will it be after 5 years?
A: Undeterminable. How long was his hair to begin with? Was the rate of growth constant?
ACT:
Q: Rip Van Winkle fell asleep under a tree. His hair grew 6 inches the first year. How long will it be after 5 years?
A: 30 inches. |

Good parallel, NB.
Now I’m pretty sure that the ACT will be much easier on me. FYI i’m a left-brainer, which means I do a lot more "memorizing" than thinking. |
