Who do you think will win the Democratic primaries in Ohio and Texas? Basically, Obama seals the bid with one win, but Hillary will remain a contender if she gets ’em both. Although I’m Republican, I’m really pulling for Obama. I think Hillary could beat McCain in November, and I think there are a large number of white Democrats that would simply not vote for a black man. All in all, I think that Obama is the more beatable Democratic candidate.
And who honestly wants another 4 years of the Clintons besides Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea?
I predict a close win by Hillary in Ohio and an even closer victory by Obama in Texas. |

I don’t know who is gonna win, but I’d rather have Obama. I don’t want McCain to win either. If some miracle happens and Huckabee pulls it out for a win that would be cool. |

I’m with you for Huckabee, but McCain is virtually guaranteed the nomination. He has more than a 600 delegate lead. Huckabee’s only shot is for McCain to ask him to be Vice President, unless he chooses someone else like Ron Paul.
I think McCain would be foolish not to choose Huckabee, though; after all, McCain is a liberal Republican. If he chooses Huckabee, he can win the South in November. Huckabee owned the primaries and caucuses in the South, and without him as a running mate I don’t think McCain can beat the Democratic candidate. |

What can I say? I don’t trust any of them, including Huckabee and McCain. Though they’re sorta lesser evils at this point.
Nader’s running again. What’s really scary is that with the amount of people who don’t like any of the choices, he may actually have a chance this time. |

Obama’s got brilliant charisma.
But I would never vote for a chump who suggests we invade Pakistan (an ally) while allying with Iran (an enemy.) Mind you, I don’t have a problem with trying to negotiate with Iran, though I don’t expect it will do any good.
And that whole Canada nonsense... if he can tick off one of our closest allies, which has the most motives and benefits from continued close relations, to the point where they don’t want to keep relations with us, and all that in his campaign, not even in office.... This guy’s one heckuva motivational speaker, but international policy? Criminies!
That whole Hillary vs Obama 3am phone call commercial ("The kids are safe in bed, it’s 3am, the phone rings in the oval office, some sort of international crisis; who do you want to pick up the phone?") Well... Obama’s response was that it’s not whether or not the phone gets answered, it’s what sort of judgment gets applied to the phone call. I can picture it now: Obama instead of FDR in WW2:
SETTING: 3AM, OVAL OFFICE
*Ringringringring*
Obama: "Hello?"
Aide: "Mr. President! The Japanese are attacking!"
Obama: "Then we must Change the situation! Invade Britain!"
...And that’s when he’s not playing "Tabula Rasa" blank slate. (Which, from what I understand, he goes so far as to actually point out how his tabula rasa tactics work in Audacity of Hope, though I haven’t read it, so I don’t actually know that for fact. Basically, he talks great for change, but he doesn’t tell you what change, so you can paste whatever face you want to on it)
Not that I particularly like McCain either, mind you. If he had his way, we’d be the United States of Mexico a long time ago.
...okay, so yeah. I’m a bitter cynic. I don’t care.
SOOOooooo....
Lem0n. How’s the British politics going these days, eh? |

| IMO, all the candidates suck. I think we’d be better off bringing Kucinich back and having he and Ron Paul duke it out for the presidency. No matter who wins, Congress will vote against them all the time and we can have another 4 years of doing nothing, vs 4 years of wrecking America. |

Of course, I would rather do nothing than destroy America...
But quite the contrary, it is logically impossible to do absolutely nothing, influence nothing, or change nothing for 1460 days. (4 years)
This year’s election will be totally boring, unless Huckabee surges back up, or at least someone much more conservative than the other guys (gal). |
