I was thinking about it tonight... and I think the worst pain I’ve ever experienced was when I ripped the cornea of my eye back in seventh grade. I fell out of bed one night and landed "just right" on a toy to rip the cornea wide open. They had to put iodine in my eye to make sure nothing was stuck inside (aka to make sure I didn’t get stabbed in the eye...), and I spent the next week or so in misery.
How about you? |

| That has to be the time when there was something wrong with my kidneys. That was aweful. I remember that it started with the agony that you feel when you should have take a pee, but you didn’t. It grew in intensity and after a few hours I couldn’t stand up right. Then I made the worse decision, I tried to pee....as if I was peeing fire..aarrggghhh! From that moment on the only thing I could do was crawling, because walking was killing me....I finally arrived at my mum’s work, crawling in, shouting for help...you can imagine the expression of my mother when she saw me....It was very, very painful |

| My worst was probably when I broke my arm. I was 5 or 6 and my older cousin was throwing me on to a bed and one time I decided to stick my arm out. Then I hit the bed and my arm cracked backwards. |

when I was in the hospital for a strep infection in my shoulder. I was 7, and just touching my finger made me cry out in pain. And then a guy took an 18 gauge needle and plunged it into my shoulder 5-6 times to find "pus"

| The most pain i have ever endured was this past December when I broke my leg, it was the worse experience ever, and even pain medication can only do so much, so alas for several weeks I was in complete pain. I still have daily pain as I am now have been relearning to walk again it takes weeks and I have been trying to for six now hopefully by the end of this month I can be normal, so to all of you who have not experienced this be grateful and pray you don’t ever have to... |

I’ve got another one:
I think I was like 15 (maybe 14) and it was 4th of July. Now, I have a long history of doing stupid things on the 4th, and this particular 4th was no different. My brother and I were lighting firecrackers and tossing them into the street. It was exciting.
We lit one and let it fly. It landed on the ground and the fuse burned to a crispy nothingness. We wanted to investigate, but decided to wait a little bit - ten seconds or so - before approaching. It appeared to be a dud.
So we walked over to it. I bent over to pick it up. And that’s precisely when this little thing decided to blow. I don’t understand and cannot fathom how it could ever take a small firework that long to explode, but that’s the way it happened.
My face couldn’t have been more than a foot or so from the firecracker. It was, I think, as close to witnessing a flash-bang grenade as I’ll ever come. I was temporarily blinded, stunned, and I came-to a few moments later on my rear-ended a few feet away. I couldn’t hear anything except a whining ring in my ears.
I sat inside the rest of the night with the WORST, the WORST headache of my entire life. It was horrible. I hope I never find myself in a pain quite like that again. It makes me shudder. |

Wow, you guys have been through a lot of pain! menace, wow, I wouldn’t want anything to happen to my eyes the way that something happened to yours. Yikes!
For me, there are two experiences that were about the same on the pain scale.
Four years ago, a huge cyst on my right ovary burst, releasing toxins into my body. The pain was so bad that I passed out in the A&E (Emergency) room. When I woke up in a hospital bed, the pain was even worse! It radiated throughout my whole body, making me writhe and scream in agony. Let me tell you, I don’t like drug use, but in the right circumstances, morphine is a beautiful thing! An emergency surgery was performed, and with a little more morphine and a lot of antibiotics, I was quickly on the road to a full recovery.
Having an ovary removed had no effect on my ability to have children. I gave birth to my son a little over a year later. This was just as painful as my burst ovary.
I had experienced childbirth before. My labour pain with my first two children was extremely painful, believe me, but I made through those without any pain medication. My labour with my third child was the worst. I needed diamorphine to get through it. Maybe my previous surgery had an affect on me and lowered my pain threshold? I wonder sometimes. |
Trade With Me, I went to Middle Earth, and all I got was this stupid ring!
Veni, vidi, velcro - I came, I saw, I stuck around. |

We guys can only be in awe when it comes to the delivery of children....I can not imagine the feeling and I absolutely hate to the day of the birth of my children. I can endure pain, but to see the one I love in pain must be aweful. Strange how close pain and pure joy are connected around the birth of a child.
But I applaud all women for that! |

Once I was with some buddies and we were using a water balloon launcher (a rubber strap with handles on both ends and a patch of cloth in the middle for cradling the projectile; when the handle on the back of the patch of cloth is pulled back and released, it will throw any small object about 300 feet).
We decided to launch some rocks, and well... that was dumb. No rocks were handy, but we did find some loose chunks of concrete. The concrete was a bit jagged, and when I pulled back the handle and released, the concrete didn’t launch. Instead, it snagged on the cloth, reversed direction, and came back to me.
It caught me in the abdomen, but thankfully missed my ribcage by a couple of inches. I had trouble breathing for a few minutes and felt a weird mixture of woozy / dizzy / nauseous, but I survived with a nice reddish brown bruise that hung around for a couple of weeks. |
