After using it as my email and on a couple sites afterward I decided to continue using the forum and so now I am known by several different usernames across the net. My original online handle has a slightly-more intersting story, I might decide to type it up later.
How did you come up with your new name (and avatar for that matter...) |

There’s a bit of a story to my name. For most of my internet career, I was known as Snumpkin (a D&D character of mine, a gnome), but this name is a bit too cuddly-sounding for combat games. So for CounterStrike I started cycling through names that were clever, not hackneyed (like mr_killer or NOOBSMASHER), and had some cultural significance. Some of my favorites were La Chupacabra (where I would knife like crazy), Gnomius (gnome aspect of Snumpkin, but respectable-sounding), and CauGoesMu (kind of an inside joke). The last one, the one that stuck, did so because it was just obscure enough that many people missed it, but some people got a kick out of it (much like yours, bibfotuna25).
For those of you who don’t recognize the reference, Brian Boitano was a figure skater for the US and went to several Olympics. The reason he has cultural significance is that the cartoon South Park featured him as a kind of superhero in the song "What Would Brian Boitano Do", in which "He’d probably kick an ass or two". This made for a great combat-game screen name, as kicking ass was already associated with the name.
As far as comics go, Calvin and Hobbes, Foxtrot, Dilbert, and The Far Side are my favorites
Oh, by the way, my AIM screen name, Blackdimund, was chosen because I thought the idea of a black diamond would be cool, and this was WAY back when AOL had a 12-character limit, so Blackdiamond was 1 character too long, and I never thought to change it once the limit rose. |

Please refrain from making a post just to tell people that you gave them a gold piece. I don’t mind if it is in a longer reply (such as the ones that are left) but the others were deleted because they were cluttering up the boards.

| I got mine from senior year at high school’s computer programming class. We played Quake a lot and I was getting bored of my name "Ycantwealljusgetalong" so I turned to a wrestler from CZW that I really liked, Sick Nick Mondo. I took the mondo and the sick parts and combined them with psycho. But because i was in a hurry to get into the game, I mispelled it. The name kind of stuck with me though because i liked it better than psycho. For those who can’t make the connection, psycho is psychological and physco is physical. So for those of you who can’t find the meaning now... go fall down some stairs. |
