No problem at all!
Translation tools simply doesn’t work, ’cause they translate everything literally, and reading a simple post becomes almost like Cobra’s Riddle Game!
That’s why Cobra had added links to translate the site, but I warned him and he removed them.
So, answering your question, yep, this is really me typing, although I may say some weird things sometimes, since I’m not a native speaker. Btw, I also speak French, Spanish, Portuguese (doh, it IS my language, after all...) and a bit of Italian...
However, so far, I’ve only dabbled into English and Spanish discussion sites (aside from Brazilian Portuguese ones, of course), I’m not very confident with the other ones... |

Houston, Texas!
It’s great, I’ve traveled to other countries, and most people treat Texans as if we were all cowboys from Spaghetti Westerns. It’s kind of sad that so many of the stereotypes apply to me; my family owns a farm on which we have cattle and a horse, I wear nothing but blue jeans (now that I’m out of the terrible public school system and the dress code it enforces), but I don’t have a cowboy hat.
Living in Houston is a bit of a curse and a blessing at the same time. You see, we’re one of the top 5 targets for a pre-emptive (or retalliatory) nuklear attack on America, since we are the oil capitol, so that’s a negative, along with the fact that the city is generally Democratic in a Republican state, which is annoying when the rest of the state (large cities like Austin and San Antonio excluted) screws it up for us and elects some dumbo like Bush as our Governor. We all know how THAT ended up. He brought our envious public school system policies to the country with the No Child Left Behind program, and so now everybody knows a bit of the hell that is TAAS/TAKS (Texas Assessment of Academic Skills/Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills), the two tests that about half of every school year is lost to accomodate teaching to and the taking of, and which do nothing functually for our children except to derail actual curricula and to force us to memorize useless facts and practices, and end up telling us things like "our students are slightly below average". Oh yeah, below average? I wonder if that has anything to do with the copious amounts of learning time lost to this stupid test! AAAAARGH
Uhh, what was this thread about? Oh yeah, where people are from.
Houston, Texas
(Thanks for putting up with that rant, feels good to get it off of my chest ) |

Funny, really very funny, perhaps you eat in there too, anyway, I live in a house in the middle of a corn field in Central Iowa, my parents don’t farm, but we still live in a farm house. Really cool, used to have a 96 year old barn, but that got old, and we had to tear it down. |
