I just kind of stumbled across this combination. I had thrown these cards in, not realising how they could interact. Then during my game with Dain, there was plenty of twilight on one turn. After I played a couple of Broken In Defeats on my Slayer, Dain said, "You can put those Broken In Defeats back in your hand, then play them again." Oh, what a chain of events that began! Poor Dain, but like I said, he had a good deck and beat me in the end.
lol, I’m just discovering things that everyone else has known for ages! |

Yeah, I got lucky and was able to JUST outpump the minion and keep Arwen from losing. She was exhausted, so losing was not an option! I also got lucky and got several healing cards the next turn, plus I think I still had a sanctuary coming up. Still...OUCH!
No card in that combo is X-ed? |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Nope not at all. U need to have 6 companions out so its not broken. Only in defeat.
Sorry.

The theory is, 6 companions are BAD. Like, deserving instant death at the hands of Cantea, Black Assassin or Shotgun Enquea.
Thus, exhausting a fellowship and killing a companion is "balanced" since it only triggers when you break the rule of 5.
Rule of Thumb. when someone drops a Broken in Defeat on you, kill off as many extra companions as necessary. Like...8 comps, Anduin Banks, 3 die kinda thing.
Or suicide skirmishes. |
