| Magic is weirder(by comparison) more expensive(Which might have something to to with it’s popularity) older, and LoTR has alot of fans who read the book and saw the movie. But as F_M said awhile ago, "For some people LoTR is just too nerdy as it comes for the movie and is gaining popularity just from that." |

It might be hard to do with decipher losing its Lotr licence (and if they could get it again, they probably wouldn’t) or going out of business...

I would argue that part of the reason sooo many MTG players were and gencon is that MTG seems to be a more expensive then LOTR.
I mean you can find LOTR cards dirt cheap, but I haven’t seen MTG for much below MSP.
LOTR will still be around when D dies becuase of sites like this. |

i looked in a card case at gencon and saw a magic card (non-foil) selling for $125.00!  I also saw a box that was selling individual packs for $50 dollars each (the whole box was $1,250) |

| You know, if you got a petition running with a lot of names stating how much in average they spend on the game, and the figure appealed to them, they might think about it. But I doubt it, they killed the game the day they changed the Cultures, Site Path mode and extinguished the Allies. Also when they started with that nonsense of "Site 1 to 4(Tower)" differing from "Site 1 to 4 (King)" and so forth. |

Wow. That’s big. I’m going to be E-Baying most of my old Yu-gi-oh collection (yea, I have one , mostly before I found Lotr!) and I was checking out the prices for some cards, and I have a few that can be bought on single-selling sites for around $80! I hope to use some of this money (if I ever get around to figuring out how Ebay works) to begin funding my MTG collection, or simply getting something from RoS.
But I will never sell Lotr, I will play it till the day I die! (I wish I could put quotes in my siggy, tOO said something funny last time I said something like that...) |
