and thats your opinion... I’m sorry it’s wrong.

If that was your point, then how can you justify saying that his opinion is wrong?
I had to put something here.

Wow... I even tried to clarify it to you but you seem to lack the cognitive capacity to understand sarcasm.

The ubiquity of the senselessness in this topic is horrific. Razz

um, he used it correctly although the spelling was off a little. I find that interesting as it suggests his own post is contained in that senselessness.

also, wtf with the eye rolling smileys, they don’t add to anything and just appear rude. same with happy face ones that look condescending. don’t get distracted by the sidebar during posts and focus on your own opinion or argument and write a sensical response that uses WORDS.

I know this was not about the topic, but if you stick to these guidelines in serious discussions they become a lot easier to understand who is on which side, as well as slight differences in opinion.

I think the U.S. does not have a perfect system of government, but I believe it has a viable format of government that is nicely held in check by a system of checks and balances. however, the current president of the nation has somehow pushed aside much of the "red tape" and jumped ahead with his own ideas, somehow not being stopped because of 9/11 and then a war. this is a time when the government of the U.S. needs to realize the importance of the system that is in place and, without choosing sides or further dividing party lines, pull our government back together and back to the body it was before our safety was threated by terrorism.

this of course is not going to happen since it is not going to be supported by the far right in the country.

the main problem with the U.S. government is its susceptability to influence by terrorism or other threats that put the United States in danger. this is because all persons holding office feel it is in their best interest to keep their constituents safe and happy, and in efforts to support the wildly swaying whims of the voters will change their opinions. examples of this can be seen in the passing of the patriot act immediately following 9/11 and the subsequent distress at the existance of such an encroaching act that was and is considered (generally) bad.

So, I believe that in times of peace, democracry like the United States’ democracy is an impressive example of the intelligence of man.

this is my personal oppenion.

Dictatorship: Flawed! man is corruptible, and always will be! as soon as you give one man full power, he will go to town with it.

Republic: Still corruptible! the majority has the rule, and it is not always good.

democracy: This is the best. (man made government) " we the people" are the ones who decide. America will fall, if we turn our back on Christ. there are a few falts with this system though. If we the people do not support the president (in this case Bush) we are sepperated just like in the Civil War.

once again this is my personal oppenion.

Cool this is my attempt to look cool.

In my opinion this country is no where near a democracy. If we the people get to vote then how do you explain Bush beating Gore when the people wanted Gore. "Let the people vote" is a joke. They have an electoral college that makes the real decision on who wins presidency. This isn’t all that comes with it cuz I have a lot more that I can rant about but I can’t remember off the top of my head. Give me a couple days and I ill have more.

Not always, but this is definitely more susceptible to corruption.

Okay, I see your point here...although this isn’t as corruptible as dictatorship.

Okay, you said (when referring to Republic) that "the majority has the rule, and it is not always good". Well, that’s even worse in a democracy! In a democracy, this is magnified 10x, 100x, because the majority directly votes!

Why do I prefer Republic over Democracy? It’s a lot more efficient. If the people had to vote on everything that happened, it would be chaos and wouldn’t go anywhere. The basic premise of Republic is this: you vote for people who agree with your views. So they do your voting for you. I like that.

That is supposed to be the whole freaking point of a Republic. Our elected officials are supposed to choose the president. The people were not supposed to directly vote for the president. The electoral college is supposed to make the real decision!
Read the constitution and tell me I got this wrong.

Also is the majority always right? Didn’t most of America think slavery was fine back in say the early 1800s or what about civil rights in say the 1930s? Also people are fallible and there opinions are easily influenced in some ways to follow the majority.

For our best interest, it is the best thing to do to help our allies and fight for the right cause. The British Empire had been going to un-settled land and colonizing it, much different. Stalin was a facist italian and part of the axis... he wasn’t our "ally"

First off who says that WW II was in our best interest? Basically Germany was trying to get its part of the world to make its own empire, it was simply copying the British in some ways.

Don’t tell me Stalin was a Italian and a member of the axis. Where did you get that? He was the leader of Russia. YOu must be thinking of Mussolini. Stalin was one of the Big three, Churchill, FDR and Stalin. The US supplied him with many of his weapons in a deal simular to the Lend-Lease program in the UK. That is a pretty big historical error. We basically choose to fight facisim over communism. ANd look at the cold war. SOme ally Russia turned out to be.

btw thanks inresponse for the comment re: smileys. the rollling eyes one is simply stupid in this context.

I await your response.
