Felipe Musco wrote: I know, and I PM’ed a moderator about it. But since he’s from the US, he thinks it’s not offensive, the guy "probably thinks that". How can someone in HIGH SCHOOL think that? Talk about stupidity!
Well, I don’t know what happened between you and a moderator, but I’m currently not so happy about you stereotyping Americans (or should I say, people from the U.S.), insulting our president, and questioning the inteligence of our students, I know people in high school may not be as intelligent as you, but... calling us stupid is definately not appreciated. Also, I know people from the U.S CAN be very, very ignorant about other people and cultures, but stereotyping ALL of us that way... If anyone called you "Primitive Brazilains (or Brasilians ), and you respond with something like "Stupid high schoolers" or "Stereotyping americans!" That makes you just as bad... Im sorry if I’ve misread the situation, but if you want to insult someone specifically, just do it, don’t heap that on everyone. |

Gotta agree with EL on this one. I did not say that he ’probably’ thought that - I said that ’it may be’ that he thought it. I really have no idea what his intentions were, and, regardless, your replies definitely insult Americans (or, if you prefer, "people from the US") a lot more than his reply could have insulted Brazilians.
Anyways, please try to tone down your anger. You’ve made a lot of rather mean unwarranted comments regarding all Americans. |

Felipe Musco wrote: No, it doesn’t. If you break the word as Le Sang Real, it menas just that. But if you break it like Le San Greal, it means The Holy Grail, The Holy Cup, etc. You’ve been watching too much The DaVinci Code...
And to your other comment, don’t worry, it’s just that schooling in US SUCKS BADLY, so it’s normal there for a high school student to think that Brasil is a big, wild jungle (when in fact it has one of the biggest cities in the world, São Paulo is HUGE), I mean, what could you expect from a country where the president itself (yes, that’s an "it", not a "he") don’t know the Capital of the surrounding countries? They ACTUALLY call themselves "americans", as they were the only ones. That’s the values they have there. Get used to it, and you won’t be surprised anymore by comments like those.
I know better than that. My school is one of the top 200 public or private schools in the U.S., and it is public. I consider myself to be significantly not a stereotypical american. I would NEVER vote the current president into office... but unfortunately, I can’t vote until this election.
I’m actually a little bit shocked that your view of the U.S. is narrow enough to assume we all have poor schooling and actually voted for the current supreme administrator. Just like not all Brazil is jungle, not all the U.S. is rich, fat, stupid bumpkins. |
