Do you think space aliens really exist?

Definitely. Every ten years I have those strange circle marks in my corn field.

Duh, it seems you know the Bible better than me, I guess that if your creator isn’t your father nobody is.

And you don’t think claiming God is your father is a little bit self-centered?

That was one of the main problems I had with a lot of religious people... they all seem to think God really cares what they do. Comon, it’s one person in a bazillion, I’m sure he’s happy if you’re not killing people, but does he really care about... say.... a dice roll? If that girl says yes? If you do anything that does not affect a significant number of others?

I’m pretty sure the old man with salt-and-pepper hair that lives in my house is my father, I don’t know about you.

If my "Theoretical" creator didn’t care then why do I exist?

Well lets see. Maybe people create more people? Maybe God was only guiding people back in ancient times... unless he guided the world to nukes? Obscene use of oil? I dare say, it sure looks like got doesn’t care as of now at least. I have faith that if there were a God who cared, he would have either not led people to nukes etc. or he would have just blown everything up and started again.

But maybe God just let people do it so that people couldn’t say they created the earth by their own means because that would obviously be proved wrong by that.

How/why would people think/say that we created the Earth? That makes no sense. We’ve got bones we don’t recognize or have records of, so there was stuff around before us... I don’t get where you’re going with that.

OK you probably have a god-father. And some people hear might have step ro adopted fathers, and you obviously have a blood father, While God is our heavenly father.

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

Well if God really cared, he would find some way to stop this stuff. I’m a huge believer in non-predetermined destiny, but a lot of religious fanatics think God meddles in our everyday lives- I consider that proof that he doesn’t.

As for being a father, that’s the wrong term. Perhaps he’s the creator of our ancestors (I don’t believe that obviously, but I’ll leave it open to doubt), but that doesn’t make him our father. That’s definately a word that the powerful religious people forced upon the masses to make them think of a very positive relationship. (Try defining father... yeah, this use isn’t the right use for the word.)

Or maybe he gave up on us and made life somewhere else.

I’m trying to keep this to aliens, but when somebody makes a counterpoint about something I’ve said, I’m not going to ignore them. That would be far more rude than engaging in an interactive debate.

You could briefly address it, and then keep the discussion on-track.
