Do you think space aliens really exist?

Definitely. Every ten years I have those strange circle marks in my corn field.

neither. you didn’t believe in me and except my teachings, and what i said was true, so you were just as bad as the hipocrite who lied. it isn’t because of being good you achieve rightiousness. it is accepting God, believing he died and rose from the dead. then when that has happened, the person who accepted will try to live like Christ.

but over all, i would not let either in, because they didn’t believe in me. (i am playing the role of God, though i am not him)

Au contrere, mon ami, God hasn’t said crap to me. Only people have, and bunches of people say different things. If God really cares about each person, he’d give me the power to recognize the right one. Since none have jumped out at me, because none have, I’m going to have to reject the idea that God does care. read some verses in the Bible. God talks through that. i can get some specific verses if you want.
Anyways, I would never try to live like Christ. He let his friends suffer just to prove a point, something I would never do. I’m going to live the way I know best and that’s it. some specifics please. i don’t recall anywhere when he does it.

If you’re not letting in either, then name a reason I should accept religion? If I don’t believe it, I become the liar you don’t let in, and I waste time for the same result. My way, I have a better chance, at least, and don’t have to waste any time.
the only way to be "let in" is accept God. works don’t make it. no matter how good. most likely the hipocrite is not a Christian, but if he was i would let him in over an enemy, because he still accepted Christ. but being a hipocrite is not one of the best things in the world. not all christians are hipocrites.

in answere to orange:

how do you figure?

That is horribly ignorant. so the fact that it explains earth’s magnetic field and why it is losing power and also has successfully predicted other planets magnetic fields is no evidence?

To avoid the huge quotes, I’ll make specific comments.

In reponse to post above:

It could be losing power for a variety of reasons, including as I said before every ice age (~every billioni years) the poles shift, and the "Magnetic North" would be physically the south pole. This could be thought of as weakening because in fact it is shifting from positive to negative in a way, and IS going towards zero. It’s not horribly ignorant to not accept a guess as a definate cause.

Specific verses appreciated. Earlier in this forum was the thing about where Jesus let his friend die a terrible death so he could rez him and look amazing.

To the red at the bottom: Well, I don’t think you can be completely sure that the ONLY way to make it in is accepting God. Lets say I was on another highjacked flight but I killed the highjackers and regained control of the plane. I think that’s worthy of a trip to heaven, don’t you? Let’s say I saved a bunch of kids from a burning building and died in the process, I’d say that’s pretty worthy. If you deny that these are worth getting into heaven, then religioin has lost it’s morals somewhere.

How I figure is that my lying to myself and God as well as those around me, I have zero shot. Even an infinately small chance is better than zero.

But you killed somebody. isn’t that bad? so wouldn’t that cancel out the "good" dead you just did? then you are in no better shape than earlier... Think

You can not make it to heaven by works

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so no one may boast."

you have to understand in the story of lazarus, God was showing all He had power over.

It is all well and good to do good works, but it can’t and won’t buy salvation.

let me ask you this, which is more important?

the physical actions ?
the mental actions ?
or both mental and physical ?

One life for hundreds? Are you kidding me? That’s not even a question in my book- you save the hundreds.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so no one may boast."

All the more reason I could never follow such a faith that doesn’t value saving the innocent. Any faith that doesn’t value innocents more than some idealism is not something I could ever be proud to follow. And if it means something to you, I would think Christ would have tried to save the people.

you have to understand in the story of lazarus, God was showing all He had power over.

Or perhaps the intention behind actions? I believe that if somebody tries their individual best to do the right thing and a religion believes that person is unworthy of a final reward, that’s pitiful. Where can you draw the line? People with mental disabilities might not be able to comprehend religion. But if they try their hardest to be good, they deserve heaven as well, whether or not they can accomplish the task of comprehending religion. If you deny the rights of the handicapped, then I’m going to have to reject your religion on principle. That’s just wrong.

i never said it doesn’t value the innocent, but good works don’t buy salvation. it is great to stand up for the innocent. i go for it all the way.
Christ didn’t try, he did! Very Happy he offered himself the perfect sacrifice, all sins were placed him. if you were to accept Christ all sins would be washed away. it isn’t what one man can try to do, but what the God did. God has his perfect time, and if you tell me Man’s time is more important than God’s, i have to say that is wrong.

""I believe that if somebody tries their individual best to do the right thing. that’s pitiful."" where is this in the Bible? i haven’t read it?

a religion believes that person is unworthy of a final reward,
i answere to green. you will be rewarded for the works, but only if you accept Christ.

I believe God talks to people on all levels based on their maturity. so the mentaly impared will have a chance to understand the gift of God at least once in their life.

Let me ask you some questions. they are kind of personal, but i will answere them after you.

Have you ever lied?
Have you ever disobeyed your parents?
have you ever looked at a person with lust and/or envy?
have you ever dislike a person and thought evil of them?

Actually, I lie less than anybody I know... the last time I lied.... probably over three weeks ago. I can’t seem to remember.

Disobeying parents, that’s easy. All the time. Every day. I only listen when they make sense.

Lust/envy? Um.... yes. Today at a spoils tournament, I was envious at my friend’s pool. I didn’t wish ill of him, I just wish I had that kind of luck. It’s like if you managed to pull two glare of subdual, a Bop, and a pair of hierarchs for your rares in a sealed. It was absolutely sick. As for the first one, not in a surprisingly long time. I’ve become rather disenchanted with people in general, lately, women included. << joke omitted, PM me if you want to hear it, as I’m sure somebody would complain if I posted it.

Dislike a person and thought evil of them? Well, there’s some guy I was playing recreational basketball against (there were teams and stuff, but it’s not counting for much) and he kept cursing and eventually screamed the F-word REALLY loudly and got a tech. foul for it and I thought he should get his mouth washed out with soap. In general, I try to make a point of not disliking people, just specific things about them, like prejudices or foul language. I don’t dislike the kid- he’s had a hard life so far, I just didn’t think he should be so vulgar in a fun game.

As for the last part of my last post, what I was saying is what if a person lacks the capacity to comprehend religion and consequentially CAN’T accept Christ? What if they just do the best they can with extremely limited mental capacity? Are they let in? I would say yes, a Christian would say no. I find that to be a problem.

Here’s an even better question. What if somebody tries to accept religion but can’t ( a non-impaired individual?) Is trying your best enough? Once again, I would say yes, but a Christian would say no. I would find that a problem.

Ingold is right that you can not git to heaven by works. Reliogion Has not Lost Its morals You HAVE
