Do you think space aliens really exist?

Definitely. Every ten years I have those strange circle marks in my corn field.

About the catholic angle....where the original Christians like John, Peter etc Protestants? Maybe they were Baptists Very Happy ..
my point is that it isn’t fair to say the one group of Christians is more holy than another.

How would one say that the early Christians were Baptist or Protestants? The Protestant Reformation did not occur till the 1500s.

the catholic church(like the protestant church) has had its share of problems, but I would still say most catholics are Christians, now before you jump on me, I would also say that not all protestants are Christians. Actually we really can’t tell who is and who isn’t a Christian until heaven. Yes works are important Ac but they are not everything.as James said you have to have faith and works. You are not a Christian if you just keep murdering people then ask forgiveness then murder someone again. You have to repent AND change. Yes you could murder someone and still go to heaven, but ID think you could if you kept murdering people.
BtO was joking about them being protestants. The early apostles were Christians plain and simple.
thats all for now.

I guess it really depends on what your definition of a Christian is. My definition of a Christian would be someone who believes in Christ’s teachings, so I believe that all people who actually are Catholics, Protestants or Orthodox are Christians. What would your definition of a Christian be?

I believe that you can’t get to heaven on just works, nor on just faith. You’ve gotta have faith and works. I guess I should have clarified it - I was just quoting the part from James to show why I believe that works are needed.

my definition is someone who believes Jesus was God as man, believes he died to take away our sins, and rose again, believe they have sinned and need forgiveness and ask God to forgive them and take away their sins.

sorry, let me clarify. i meant some Catholics are Christians. but some Protestants are christians also.

if someone is a true "Christian" that peorson will go to heaven.

only believing cannot get you to heaven. Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

and works won’t either. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

the only way is to believe, and surrnder your life to Christ. works are important. if someone does not have good works, you know that their faith is not real. but it is not works, it is grace through faith that saves.

i completely agree that there are people who are "of the christian religion" who haven’t given their lives to christ, and there are also Catholics who haven’t.

the true Christian church are the people who have given their lives to God, and will be saved on judgement day.

true what AC, Mathchetman say.

1) accept God, not just believe in Him. make Him the Lord of your life, accept His gift of forgiveness.

2) Works are a part of faith, but do not achieve salvation. they are usless until after you have accepted Christ.

3) It doesn’t matter what you claim to be. Roman Catholic, Protostant, Eastern orthodox...etc. it matters what you are. Christian or... (you fill in the blank.) What makes a Christian, is the acceptance of Jesus Christ into your life as Lord.

First I was pointing out that the early church wasn’t either catholic per say or protestant. I was mostly being sarcastic.

and my comments weren’t directed anywhere in particular.

dude, stop insulting people. it is against forum rules, and is wrong. he can criticize God all he wants. God doesn’t need us to defend Him.
