Do you think space aliens really exist?

Definitely. Every ten years I have those strange circle marks in my corn field.

here is what i mean. A person may not believe in a molacule, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, the same goes for Jesus.

in answer to the second statement. no we won’t all be Christians.
God can put people in power, to show others what not to be like....

The same absolutely does not go for Jesus. Nobody in the world worth listening to believes molecules don’t exist. It’s an easily proven fact and it’s at the root of much of your modern science- molecular structure alterations create many synthetic products we need.

Jesus is your belief based on your... beliefs. While you may believe wholehartedly in Jesus, even you can’t PROVE his existance (I know you follow based on faith, but you can’t prove faith). Molecules are finite, and easily defined and shown. Jesus is not.

Perhaps you’ve lived a life without many people different from you but saying straight out that your god is real and they’re wrong if they don’t believe is "shoving it" at anybody with a different view.

I still don’t think any God of mine would have put Saddam in power. It just doesn’t cut it in my book. Do you think any modern political leader really thinks god put them in power? If god put people in power, we could stop millions upon millions of dollars of waste in political campaigns and just let god decide.

A) Show me wind. Don’t show me the effects of the wind, but show me wind. You can’t. It is invisible. Ok, now show me God. I can’t, He is invisible. I can show you the effects of God, but I can’t show you an object that is God.

B) God often works through people rather than directly interfering or making something happen. Often times God works through the voters to elect those people whom He desires to be in office rather than directly appointing someone to be the leader (like he did with Moses in the Old Testament).

C) I think the issue that you have (both LSG and LC911) is that people can form an entire outlook on life, world view, and belief structure entirely on faith. To you it isn’t logical. To me it makes sense to make one statement of faith (i.e. "The Bible is completely true.") and live a life that flows from that belief and faith rather than having to come up with explanations for everything and then have multiple steps of faith when things cannot be properly rationalized. Please present closing statements as the tone of this thread seems to have deteriorated again into pointless bickering and will be locked on 12/29/06.

bravo M_H!! Applause Applause Applause

The entire point of faith is simply: believing without seeing. it isn’t having evidence for it.

My point exactly. I can prove molecules, I CAN make you see them. This is why you can’t compare "belief" in molecules to belief in the divine prescence.

As for M_H.... I think we’re still covering new things, and I don’t think you should close this thread.

As for M_H’s second point. Um.... are you telling me that when I step into the voting booth, God is going to posess me and make me choose something next year? I don’t think so. I’ll have thought it out in advance and made a choice based on what I can control (Earthly stuff) and leave the stuff I can’t (divine interferance) for god to handle.

For the last point... I do what I can. I actually do believe that there is a god of some sort, just that he does not meddle in the eveyday lives of the individual. My "logic" isn’t that there is no God, only that I shouldn’t be focused on godly activities, rather what I can control. If I can give a starving kid food, I don’t see anything of or pretaining to god- it’s the right thing to do so I do it. I try to rationalize what I can and do what I can about the things I do have control over. I have no delusions of changing the world- I just affect the microcosm of society to which I have access. I don’t care about if your outlook on life is logical, I just know that I will do what feels right with any situation presented to me. I find this not logical, not godly, but not illogical or ungodly, either. It’s just the way I am, and I’m not sure where that point is going.

ok, the voting thing is not being possessed, but being led to vote for the person. God is going to get that person, thing, etc. done no matter what you do, but He likes to use us to help accomplish His will.

But then you can’t see molecules without a microscope, the men in the Bible saw God is carnet. in the flesh. It has been passed down from one generation to the next, with out changing. (this makes it most likely true.)

it is like the law of gravity. it is passed down from one generation to the next. it doesn’t change, thus it is true.

well god tells us to help others, so it is the right thing to do. you can chose to walk away, but your concience keeps telling you feed him (or her).

P.S. my previous annaligy was a bad one, but it was all thought of on the moment.

How do you believe the universe came into existence, and how do believe
humans came into existence?

GT if you have been following this thread then you would of found out 14 pages ago.

God have foresight in what will happen and he knows that if someone is ready to come to him and he know when someone would want to come to him, so maybe he knows that in some situations he just can’t change the people. What is the major mindset of people in the world. Rebelious people that say God doesn’t exist and that say that morality is based on the eyes of the beholder.
