one H13 please stop. you are not debating you are flaming and being stupid if you don’t care enough about this to spell right shut up you are acting like an immature 3 yr. old(sorry but I have had that inside me since you started spamming yesterday and had to get it out).

OK to your post PSS I could say
Trust me, if there is one thing I have learned it is never waste much time writing on one of these threads here because no matter how many times you make a logical claim or make a scientific fact that proves God created the Earth, the atheists here will say while maybe it wasn’t always like that, or I have seen this or that, etc.

Anyway this is no way to not be biased about this, unless you were a little orphan child who was raised by no one and read every book and saw every movie on the subject.

I’m not going to tell you about my childhood but I’ll have u know I went to mass weekly, prayed daily, said the rosary every night before going to bed, and recieved all my sacraments. I went to CCD classes for years as a child until I went to a Catholic Middle School then into a Catholic High School. I was very religious. But because of many events which I do not speak of, I gave up on it because I wasn’t asking for anything hard. I just wanted to be happy, to not be scared. Thats all I asked for but never received it until years after I gave up on religion.

Now maybe because I’m really emotional right now cause things are going really rough for me right now and I’m trying to dig myself out. I just wrote a 4 page letter to my girlfriend... well... i guess ex gf. And my above statement was one of the topics. I don’t talk about this stuff because everytime I do it just makes me sad and have bad memories only for other people like you guys to claim me as a lier or just plain stupid. Only a couple people know about it...

but yeah... I’m not going into specifics but I have my reasons for believing the way I do, and it is because of this why I am angry with religion... among other reasons. So sorry if I have an attitude but I’m not acting like a child and even if i was acting like i child, I have a right to. God abanded me. I would pray that I could just close my eyes and open them and sunlight would be seeping through the window of my room. But that never truelly happened... I opened my eyes and realized no one was listening.

I’m gonna stop posting in this thread for right now because I am actually waiting for some one to have the time to post on here and he can’t do it if it’s locked... so here I go. byebye

Wow, so, there’s a lot here, none of it with any merit in the least, now hear me out before you whine.

The problem with a theological debate is you do it through inductive, perhaps deductive, philosophical means. You cannot do that when using either science or religion. Science is not proven, nor is religion. We cannot prove gravity; we can only use a null hypothesis in any scenario. You CANNOT say that a pen will always fall to the ground when you release it from your hand, you cannot say this because you cannot test it every time, it requires, it is dependent upon the fact that you need an infinite amount of tasks to prove the hypothesis. You can use the null hypothesis to give you a theory that supports gravity. Hold a pen in the air and state your thesis that "this pen will always not fall" and then when it falls you have disprove, or in a sense, proven your theory. All you need to disprove a theory is to have a circumstance happen once, in this instance the pen fell therefore at least once a pen fell so it is impossible to say that the pen will always not fall.

You cannot apply these means to debate on this subject, you just cannot. It is futile and foolish to even attempt this. Go to a professional philosophical debate on this subject, they have them at least monthly at your local university, state college or Kiwanis club. You couldn’t pull this crap there, you wouldn’t see someone even attempt it, its garbage.

You cannot prove or disprove God, or gods, you cannot disprove or prove most of science.

Evolutionary theory is very young, especially compared to the centuries old views on creationism. It is very unproven and its links are still extremely shaky. Read science and history magazines and periodicals out of Europe/Americas/Australia and you will get a slightly different view, for posters form out of the States, I encourage you to add what you find, its quite different.

Further, we need to separate the talk from religion and creationism. Even if creationism is true, it does not even imply that there is a God, or Gods...think about that one, its there even if you don’t see it explicitly.

Never ever, ever even attempt to argue Catholic doctrine, it is terrible, I’m not bashing Catholics here but I’m saying the old adage remains, "the easiest way to defeat a Catholic is to show them a list of their beliefs, for a fool is easily destroyed when looking into a mirror." Their beliefs are terrible and very contradictory. Mainstream Protestantism, such as Methodism, the Nazarenes, etc, are far more approachable as is Islam and Judaism. Catholicism is terrible and in fact, a Christian arguing for a view on Creationism ought not ever use Catholic doctrine as they now believe in theistic evolution, meaning that God the creator planted the world in the form of the big bang, and he knew all that would come, his plans involved billions of years of slow change.

I myself am Christian, you can attack if you please, the merit is not derived from the poster. I believe in microevolution as it is present all around us in mutations and adaptations. Anyone claiming that this does not exist should be discredited instantly as it is one of the few aspects of evolution that is proven through observation and hypothesis, and can be argued with no doubt, air-tight logic.

Furthermore, read up on Darwin, spend a few months researching him and reading his works, he proposed many theories, one of which was natural selection, which is easily proved by observation, whether or not natural selection leads to evolution is highly debatable as there is no flow. Natural selection is easy to understand, suppose there are two types of goldfish, red ones and brown ones, the brown ones prefer cold and the red ones prefer warm water. Now the climate cools by 4 degrees Celsius over a decade and the red ones cannot reproduce so the majority of goldfish in the world are brown...that’s a no brainier...this leads to adaptation but not species change. When there is observable proof of species change then it is air-tight as well.

Anyway my point here is you are arguing something that is a mute point, instead why don’t we discuss the origins of a universe from both perspectives. If you believe in total full scale macroevolution then how do you believe the planets came into existence. The rocks from the big bang were scattered, hurled, thrown, slowly creeping, colliding at times forming new planets, comets, moons etc...where did the bacteria come from that formed life.

Lets debate that topic as it is far more interesting and will provide a healthier debate then just attacking the others views on religion and atheism, when the two should not play into the argument.

Sometimes when a religious person tries to evoke a scientific claim supporting their belief the results can be quite sad. There is a reason why 96% of the top global scientists (Royal Academy of Science and its equivalents) do not believe in a god.

This computer screen is the word of an all powerful being (lets say the flying spaghetti monster Smile ) Why is it true, because the computer screen says so. Duh...... C’mon people, the Bible is not proof.

God is real whether you beleive it or not.

If god exists then you are quite right here. But to start your argument you assume god exists. Why don’t you try and prove this premise before you use it in an argument.

This is in no way proof of god. Just think about this for just a second. Which came first, the planets or life? Is it not completely plausible that the reason life originated on a mild climated planet is because it perished on harsher planets?

And actually we have done a pretty good job of proving gravity with General Relativity. Although I agree that nothing can be proved without absolute 100% certainty, General Relativity has survived many experiments. I’m curious to see what String Theory has in store for us.

I’m sorry LC911 but I would disagree form a scientific point of view. The Bible is the most widely accepted and non-contradictory document in the ancient times, and it has the most arcealogical evidence too.

Just because someone is smart doesn’t mean they are right, for many years evolutionists used "extreme proof" that spontanious combustion is true and therefor life could just come out of nowhere. Now, only an idiot would think that SC is true because the concept is just dumb.

If you want I have more.

The Bible is actually one the most contradictory books ever written. It’s simply absurd. For just a handful of the hundreds of self contradictions, follow this link:
http://www.ebonmusings.org/atheism/biblecontra.html

The most archaelogical evidence....are you kidding me? Is Sean Hannity your best friend? Shocked Let me ask you a few questions. How old do you think the earth is? Do you think Noah’s flood actual occured? Do you think dinosaurs roamed the earth along with humans?

You are aware that the Bible claims the universe is geocentric, with the Earth at the center, and around 6000 years old. It also claims the existance of witches and dragons.

Did you know how many secular sources documented the life of Jesus Christ? ZERO. There were plenty of course, but not a single one of the authors was born until about 30 years after Christ’s alleged death. Shocking that his display of miraculous events went completely unnoticed in the most documented time of the antiquities!

You are completely right in stating that smartness does not necessarily mean correctness. I’m well aware of the fallacies of some scientists, especially on the topic of cold fusion. But I at least give my gratitiude to scientists for attempting to find answers instead of accepting "truths" without rational justification.
