and NBarden how could you ban gagnut1?
its not like his IP address would change when fingolfin played for him.
After all they live in the same house 
I don’t see anything wrong....and how could jagex PROVE they were sharing an account if their IP address never changed......all they would have is your word that they were sharing, nothing else...
All I can say is if you got their account which they have worked long and hard on closed down because they were friendly to you on this site.....well lets just say I would be pissed off beyond belief.....
I hope you respond soon to clear this up! |

wait, so if I can’t play runescape on my library’s computers? while, there goes everyone in ames accounts, and you can’t log on on anyone elses computer, there goes another bunch of people. and if you did ban them, why didn’t you PM them warning them first. if you didn’t, and did ask for them to be banned, then you are approximately the most inconsiderate person I have known.  and you can quote me. |

Ask AP and menace. They were in on the joke. I was kidding. Although I could get you guys banned if I want, but I would never do that to a friend.
BTW, you could just log into gagnut1 and see if I banned it.
SoP, I asked a Jagex mod once about IP Bans and Runescape doesn’t use them. Menace came up with the idea and I had to play along.
Also, I’m just a player mod, not staff. I don’t wield as much power as you may think.

My point now is how could jagex ban then for that?
After all how could you conclusively prove that the Gagnut of this site was the same one who played runeschape as Gagnut1?
Basically how on earth is that rule enforcable?
I know that Shieldelf has bought and sold accounts which "apparently" violates the rules.
And Aragron_Ellasar has bought accounts, including one for YourStikenFaces younger bro, peterpot.
Plus I often play on friends accounts for short periods of time, so should all of the above people lose their accounts just because someone else has used it?
Why does Jagex even have that stupid hard to enforce rule in the first place?
And second I highly recommend not taking a joke like this, to far ever again. I was talking to Gagnut on the phone today and both of us weren’t very happy with how you were handling this.
Just remember that even though you think it is funny, people who have spent "endless" hours on runescape like gagnut and SOP might just find it offensive that you even made them think that you could have their accounts banned. |
