I used to read Redwall, but I can’t stand having a book series where I can just blow through the books so quickly. WoT was a better legnth for one with too much free time Very Happy

Books from early in life that gush nostalgia: Redwall series and A Wrinkle In Time series, and of course I was into The Cronicles of Narnia, the books and the original movies, not the newest one (haven’t seen it)

"Classic" books that I have enjoyed: The Giver, Stranger in a Strange Land, A Brave New World

Humorous Books: Anything by Douglass Adams (Specifically the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series and Starship Titanic), anything by George Carlin, Jon Stewart, insert funny political satirist here, and of course Dave Barry (his newspaper column, and the book Big Trouble which became a movie)

The three books that have absolutely changed my life:
Ishmael
The story of B
My Ishmael
These three are authored by Daniel Quinn, and if you haven’t read them I strongly urge you to. They are comprehensable at any reading level, and they can help you to view the world in a completely different way. This message, unlike some that might be praised like I’m praising this one, is not sensationalist. I’m not saying that reading this will save the world. I’m not saying you must change your life to fit the guidelines in this book. One thing I am saying is that if everyone in the world read this book, and only one in ten or one in one hundred understood its message, it would mean global peace.
Seriously. Read the books. What have you got to lose?

And for those of you who have already read one or all three of these, how did you find it? Do you think I’m overvaluing the impact? I’d like to know.

Thanks for reading!

Wow, guys, I’m kinda suprised that I was able to make a sensationalist statement like that and nobody called me on it. Did you guys just not notice, or do you just trust me that this is true? I’d like a discussion on these books, if ya can’t tell Wink

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

Well, nice to finally know someone who has seen it! To tell you the truth, my girlfriend and I were excited about the movie, but then as it approached we lost interest and forgot Rolling Eyes! Once it was out, we kept saying "We’ll see it soon", but never got around to it. On top of that, none of our friends saw it, so we had no idea if it was good or not (we rarely trust newspaper reviews).
Now that I know someone who I can trust liked it, we might rent it sometime Wink
