the other thing i wanted to say about this, is that it is quite interesting how a government can take so much from it’s people, yet they will still love it, as long as it gives them what they want.
it’s like the guy says in Glatiator about the roman people and the gladitorial games put on by the cesar: "He will bring them death, and they will love him for it."
