| I was leaning towards AC, but I want to see some more of this assassin’s tricks (in case it is AC). |

Without respite my blood will flow
O’er your eyes ‘til they cannot see

Got a PM from Incog. Very interesting....
Quote: Reread my last post I noticed I forgot to leave a clue to my ID. I edited the post adding it in. Didn’t want it going unnoticed by you since you are the only one who read it before the edit. Just trying to keep things fair, even though I’m a killer
Interesting because I think what he added after I initially saw the post was the part about the tattoo. So I think the "A" is a big enough clue to Incog’s identity that he felt it was unfair to have it left out.
I have to admit I feel a little guilty posting this after Incog was rather kind with the hint, but he didn’t say NOT to, and I AM new to this round, so I want to contribute something right away. |

Hmmm....
I expect that the "A" clue won’t be solveable until later, once we receive more, similar clues that will all somehow build upon eachother. Of course, that’s pure speculation. It could just as easily be completely independent of the other ID clues, but it seems like this sort of thing would be a "calling card" clue; different tattoos on his victims that all add up to something. |

I have decided the time has come to get rid of a cop . I’ve been working on a bomb since the unfortunate death of Shielsmaiden, and now it is time to put it to good use.
I sneakily slipped up to the police station after everyone had gone home. I picked the lock to the door and entered. I walked over to the new cop’s desk and dropped off my care package. Inside was enough explosives to only kill things within a small area. I pulled out my tools and attached it to the desk then bolted the desk to the floor. I set my password to disarm the bomb and left the cops a note. I gathered my belongs and exited the building carefully leaving no evidence to my identity.
The next morning the cops arrived at the police station and to their surprise they noticed a dufflebag on Officer DainIronfoot’s desk and a note attched to the handle. The note read.
"Officers of the law,
I have decided it is time to congratulate you on your solving of my last riddle. I have in this dufflebag a gift for you. It is a bomb that can only be disarmed by a single code. The catch is only one of you can disarm it. I have been following each of you around for quite a while now and have obtained each one of your fingerprints. I have made the keypad to the bomb respondable to only two sets of prints, mine and the choosen cop’s prints. Here is a clue to help you.
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
[_][_][_][_][_][_][_][_]
To decide whom among you will be my next victim, each cop must send a private message to me with who they want to play my game. In the event of a tie, or no cops partcipating, I will decide who is chosen. If a tie I will choose from the ones that tied if no cops participate then I choose the one I feel is my biggest threat . Each cop may help in the solving of this riddle, but only the elected cop can enter the password. You only have one chance if an incorrect password is entered the bomb will detonate.
I hope you enjoy my gift, You have 48 hours to enjoy it |

You said we can collaborate on the clue, yes? I hope so, because this is my area of expertise. Probably the reason the clue was left on my desk....
I recognized the quote immediately as being from The Hobbit, which anyone who’s known me for a while knows I now know pretty much cover to cover.
It’s one of Gollum’s riddles to Bilbo, his third and the fifth overall in their "game". The answer to the riddle comes almost immediately to Bilbo: dark.
Unfortunately, of course, the password is obviously not as easy as that, since it’s eight characters long. Maybe "darkness", but I’m not willing to chance that just yet with a ticking bomb waiting to go up should that be wrong. |

I thought it sounded familiar, but I didn’t recognize it as being from The Hobbit.
But yeah, the very first thing that came to mind was "darkness"
Or else "The Dark" (counting the space as a character in the password....)
Problem is, it seems a little too obvious. |

Indeed. There has to be more to it than that...unless Incog is attempting to get us to outsmart ourselves.
Argh. |
