I can’t believe you didn’t put the Steelers as one of the options (sure, I can choose "other", but that could mean any out of 22 unlisted teams). They went 6-2 in the last half of last season, once Ben got past his appendectomy and motorcycle crash. Look at their positions...

QB: Ben took to the Super Bowl once, he can do it again!
RB: Willie Parker is a Pro Bowl RB, and Gary Russel (another undrafted RB, just like Parker) + Cary Davis are both doing amazing this pre-season.
WR: Ward is the one of the best possession receivers in the game, and Holmes led all AFC rookies last year in receiving. Wilson and Washington are great back-ups.
TE: Heath Miller is amazing, but sadly under-utilized in the old offensive coach’s schemes. The new offensive coach promised to make him a strong target this season.

DL: Keisel, Hampton, and Smith are all extremely good players for the 3-4 defense.
OLB: Even without Porter, we’ve got Woodley (a rookie from Michigan, w00t) and Harrison. Both are great at rushing the QB.
ILB: Farrier is an awesome veteran, Foote is a great veteran, and Lawrence Timmons really shined in his first pre-season game.
CB: Ike Taylor has the ability to shut down the best WRs in the NFL. Take a look at our Super Bowl season to see his potential. Also, McFadden is great and William Gay (rookie) already has 2 INTs in 3 pre-season games.
S: Troy Polamalu is the best safety in the game, and Anthony Smith is an amazing FS (2 INTs in the first 2 games he started last year, and he only played in a few games). Check out this hit; a thing of beauty!

K: Reed is good.
P: Sepulveda is an awesome rookie punter... his kicks either A) go really far, or B) go inside the 20 yard line (either out of bounds or with enough hametime for the special teams unit to stop the returner).

I can’t wait to see the Steelers face the Eagles tonight...

Nope, not PA... I’m in OH, and I’m surrounded by loads of Cleveland Browns fans, but thankfully the Steelers beat them twice every year so I can just rub it in. Wink

Well, I’m going to bed now, but the Steelers are up 20-6 in mid 3rd quarter. Looking good so far, although the turnovers have gotta stop.

yeah well McNabb only threw 11 balls, and westbrook only carried 1, so you can hardly call it a fair match. Very Happy

Hey... the reason they had so few plays was because our third down defense kept them off the field. Very Happy

But yeah, it’s just a pre-season game. I’m excited for the win (27-13) but I’ll be more excited when the regular season comes around.

...and then Pittsburgh can get smoked. Very Happy

I didn’t add Pittsburgh as an option because Parker is, in reality, their only truly talented player. Ben still needs some experience, and until he gets it, their offense can’t put on their A-game.
I had to put something here.

the reason they won the super bowl was they had jerome bettis. JK I don’t know maybe-maybe not. I just think the colts/patriots are so much more likely then them.

LOL! Troy Polamalu isn’t talented? Neither is Hines Ward? They have a myriad of talented players. Ben is really looking sharp this season, especially against all those blitzes the Eagles used (although that one interception was a dumb mistake).

It would’ve made a lot more sense to list Pittsburgh instead of any of the following teams you listed:

Rams
Panthers
Eagles
Broncos
Bengals
Seahawks

I also would’ve listed the Bears, since they made it to the Super Bowl last year. The Ravens would be another good team to include, as much as I hate to say it.

Polamalu is overrated. And also, last year’s incident with Larry Johnson was ridiculous. If you have a huge amount of hair hanging out behind you, you can’t whine when it gets grabbed. Hines Ward is also overrated, due to his weird passing plays with Randle El in the Super Bowl a couple years ago. Plus, Ben is looking sharp, but in the preseason. I’ve seen players play superb in the preseason, and then have terrible regular seasons.

The Rams have Stephen Jackson, Torry Holt, and Marc Bulger, whom I would take over Parker, Ward, and Ben any day.

Steve Smith is phenomenal.

I have already stated my reasons for the Eagles’ greatness.

The Broncos have a terrific defense and a developing offense.

Carson Palmer + Chad Johnson = 2nd Best QB + WR Combo in the NFL.

And the Seahawks have a now-healthy Shaun Alexander and Hasselbeck.

The Ravens don’t have the offense to get things done, and Grossman + a passing play = disaster.

I rest my case.
I had to put something here.
