Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

As I walked amongst the crowd, no one looked in my direction, nor aknowledged my existence. To them, I was just another face.

But to the CobraCards player community, I was Incognito, professional assassin, and menace to society. And I had a purpose.

This one had been difficult to track down, and his protection was better than the others’ had been. But I thought I had found my moment. For a moment, I raised my head to look around. There he was, not ten feet from me. But I couldn’t act now. His guard were dispersed throughout the crowd, clustered tight around him, and I knew there were others behind me. If I struck now, I knew I would be found out.

My target suddenly changed course, stepping out of the tangle of walkers beside the street. He entered into a coffeeshop, and as I passed it by, I noticed the two protectors behind me enter it also. The ones that had been around him before spread out, taking seats at other little cafes around the block. Perhaps not the darkest or most dangerous place for a murder, but so long as the job got done...

I walked along another block, until I was ought of sight of the target’s silent guardians. This was a sniper’s job if I ever saw one, but unfortunately a coffee-shop window wasn’t an ideal vantage point. Besides, I only had a couple knives and a small vial of pioson on me. Their little outing took my by surprise, but there was no chance of me getting him inside his safehouse. All the people who posted on my thread had been getting top-notch protection since I last ’visited’ their ranks... and to be honest, it was really ticking me off. Obviously knifing wouldn’t work. This would take a little more... cunning.

As soon as I could manage, I turned and dissapeared into a side alley. I followed it to its end, a small, dark, and dirty little back street, most likely used for deliveries to resturaunts and shops that lined the street I had just left. I continued on until I was at the back of the small coffeeshop. I walked in the door, and was fast approached by a waiter looking indignant. I carefully explained that I had a rather large delivery for the place; asked him outside to inspect it. Moments later, I was in the door, wearing a slightly-too-big waiter’s uniform (the man was a bit older than me, but he’d have to be, to be working such... I’m a year or two away from getting a legit job myself) and leaving the body to rot in the street.

I whipped out a pad and pen, and went to take a customer’s order, eying my target and his guards the whole time. I relayed the order to the bedraggled young man working beside the counter (it looked like he half wished he was lying dead in the street, if I had more time, I would have obliged) and quickly moved back to my target. He was typing rapidly on a laptop, I could see CobraCards pulled up on the screen. If he was posting there, he wasn’t a decoy (like in the last time I had tried to kill this one, that whole incident caused quite a lot of trouble and a marked increase in his protection). I smiled. This would be too easy.

I leaned over to him and brushed my hair out of my eyes. I noticed his guards hands twitch toward their sides, and I feared to be caught in a crossfire soon, but the mometn quickly passed, they had put me down to a caffiene-addicted, depressed young man like the one behind the counter. My target turned towards me, and I could see the bags under his eyes. I wasn’t suprised; I had kept him on the run for months now.

"Dear Lord!" I exclaimed, trying to sound suprised, "you look as worn as... well, a really worn thing," I finished lamely, giving him an understanding smile.

He cracked a little grin back at me and rubbed his eyes. "You don’t know the half of it."

I gave a short laugh. "What’ll it be?"

"Tall iced coffee."

"Sweetened?"

"Please."

I turned and walked away without a word. I told the man behind the counter this order, and picked up the one from the first customer, bringing it to him. I asked one of the security what they’d like, they told me to shove off. I’d been expecting that, but tried to seem aggravated as I picked up my target’s drink, a small vial slipping down my sleeve at the same time. In a fluid movement, I opened it, and a clear powder fell out. I calmly stirred it with a straw as I gave it to him. The security seemed to have noticed something was amiss; one was beginning to rise from his chair, another had a hand reaching towards his belt. This was going to be trouble.

Or maybe not. The target had noticed nothing wrong, he calmly took a sip of the coffee. That was all it took. Suddely, I whipped out my knives from hidden sheaths. The two guards were dispatched quickly. The boy behind the counter had barely noticed what was happening before he too got a knife between the eyes. The other customers ran out screaming, and I was running too, but not out the front doors, as they were, but out the back, in one clear leap I was over the counter, tearing off the waiter’s smock to reveal my street clothes below. I knew the other members of security would be coming quickly, I had to get out as soon as possible. I didn’t spare the time for a backwards glance at my victim, I knew that little sip had left him dead within a matter of seconds.

When the security got in, mere minutes ahead of wailing police sirens, they saw the bodies of their two murdered comrades, as well as a trickle of blood spilling from behind the counter. Gate Troll’s body was slumped over his still-running computer, a trail of blood and cheap coffee running from his lips. In the back alley, they found the murdered waiter, along with a discarded smock and shirt. I was long gone.

The last clue was an anagram, it was "Ents of Fangorn" and then a number. That was the collector’s info for "Gate Troll.

My next vicitim is the 13th person to post on the 13th thread in the 13th forum. That’s fairly straightforward. Tell me his name before tomorrow night, and he shall be spared and you’ll be one step closer to finding my identity. Don’t get there in time... and you’ll be set back again. Go!

After the murder, Gate Troll was taken to the morgue. Traces of Iocaine powder were found in his bloodstream. Everyone knows that Iocaine comes from Australia, which is inhabited by criminals, so this definitely was a criminal.

Unfortunately, the police are no closer to finding any suspects. Gate Troll was unable to identify any of the men brought in for the lineup as one of the ones who murdered him. Neither were the deceased guards or restaurant employees.

Yes, I came up with FM, as well:

"You mean uglyness can be healed?!?!? "

Laughing

That’s assuming that announcements and stickies are threads. I think that they are. Eh?

Edit: It could be bib, if you count the "Lord Of The Rings TCG" link as a forum. The question is, does Incognito count that as a forum? Think
