that would be the challenge.
I can’t believe how hard that would be for someone who lost someone in it.

I know what you mean. I know that it wasn’t quite as big or horrific as 9/11 but I lost a freind in the terrorist attacks here on 7/7 2005 and for awhile I could not bring myself to forgive the people that had done it. But then I remembered what Jesus said on the cross-

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

It has been hard but over time I have come to forgive those who did that.

Considering it is at the heart of our religion Forgiveness seems to be a surprisingly hard concept for christians to grasp. I saw a program about Christianity in the USA (Please note this is not a dig purely about US christians, it was just that the program was specifically about the US and not about anywhere else) and I was surprised at the amount of hate I saw in some of the christian comunities the program showed. Until 7/7 I had no idea how hard forgiveness actually is. It’s damn tough.

in some situations, no. but in fatal situations, yes.
I am surprised how hateful some Christians are. God has righteous hate, but that is God, not being righteous we christians shouldn’t hate I think. Fight against, yes, hate no.

i agree. christians are known for hating/against things. (homosexuality, abortion...) but jesus said that people would know we are christians by our love. yet we are most often known by our hate. a sad state of affairs...

one other thing to take into consideration though is the fact that there are TONS of people who claim they are christians but aren’t.
