So I take it you didn’t get a moon as the materials didn’t coalesce right after the battle.
Your biggest issue is that you didn’t have enough defense on the planet where you had your fleet and you weren’t fleet saving. I didn’t build a fleet that large until I had a GOOD defense to back it up. 50 LL, 10 HL, 1 Gauss 1 IC and 1 SSD is NOT a good defense. I followed the curve for defense described here on my homeworld and I haven’t been attacked since. I won’t say that it makes me immune to attack, but having A LOT of fodder keeps the bigger items from being hit and able to do more damage in the long run.
If that fleet attacked me at home, assuming we have equal tech, I win 80% of the time and it is a draw 20% and his fleet is crushed...

Let’s just say it wouldn’t be worth their time to come after me with IPMs at this point... As I keep my planets pretty resource starved (I spend as soon as I get or keep my resources on my ships over night) so they aren’t very tempting targets. In addition, the only planet worth attacking has 20 ABMs on it so let’s see...
21 IPMs*25,000 resources per IPM (to get through my screen) = 525K resources just to damage my defense...
That means I need 1M resources on my planet that they can capture for them to break even. I don’t know that I have ever had that much on any one of my worlds although I can store at most 1.8M resources on my homeworld.
Like I said, they would need to come with a pretty good size fleet in order to break through my defense and at that point my resources would likely be used, so it wouldn’t be worth it. |

Wow. I only have 5.
I’m gonna fortify two planets, Pwnzer Alpha and Pwnzer Eta. They’ll be my two homeworlds and bases of operation. Only difference is Pwnzer Alpha will have a research lab, Pwnzer Eta won’t need one for a while.

That does stink NB, but that is why your don’t try to build big raiding fleets for a while.
I know guys who think you shouldn’t have big bad raiding fleets until you have more then 100K points.
BTW Cargo ships don’t count as fleets...
as far as defenses go, ABM are very important.
My UNI 17 home planet got whacked by one...dang thing took out my defenses...  Oh well might as well rebuild.... |
