I would argue that it doesn’t take much time, considering that most buildings and research take at least half an hour to build the higher up you get...I am about to do some research that will take 8 hours! |

I got a PM from BTO about joining this "alliance".
Is this software I download, or a game based online?
Whichever it is i’ve never heard of the game before, and would like to learn what it is all about.
I do have starcraft, that’s about all I can relate Ogame to. |

This is a browser based online game that is free to you. You don’t have to download anything, just visit The OGame Website. Another good resource is the OGame Wikia Site. If you want to join our "alliance" sign up for an account on Universe 17 and do a search for the Alliance Tag "Pirates". BtO will add you to the ranks.
The game starts out pretty slowly, I’m still on my first planet developing its resources, but it seems to pick up pretty quickly once you get your resources going. I’ll probably be working on colonizing my first planet by next weekend which should be fun! 
Here is my update:

Metal Mine (11) - 962/Hr
Crystal Mine (10) - 529/Hr
Deuterium Synth (5) - 101/Hr
Solar Plant (12) - 753 Energy

Research Lab 2
Currently researched:

Combustion Drive 1
Currently building my level 13 solar plant so I can upgrade my Metal mine and Deuterium plant. The Metal mine will put me at >1000 metal per hour which will be nice.
I’m running into waiting on Crystal and Metal most often for my next builds which is why those are pumped up so high. I’ll start running into a brick wall with my research and such since I’m not bringing in a lot of deut at this point, but I figure that will allow me to build up some of my defenses.
My basic strategy so far has been to put pretty much everything I can muster into my Resource generation and once that is firmly established, start the process of upgrading other things. Usually, if I wait overnight, I can get enough resources to do several upgrades in the morning.
The Power plant is taking me close to 2 hours to build though, so I’m going to start running into problems with taking too long to build my structures.
My next Crystal mine is going to take over an hour to build.
During the last update I leapfrogged MM and I’m working to catch up to SoP. That is a stretch, but we’ll see how it goes. Again my goal is to start my first colony early next week only gated by how much deut I’m going to be able to manufacture. |
