| Schizophrenia is actually a broad term used to describe a type of mental illness, if i didn’t have dirt slow internet I woud look it up on Wiki... ’cuse me "we" if this is a themed thread. |

There are many misconceptions about schizophrenia. Schizophrenics do not have separate personalities, although they do hear voices.
There is another condition called multiple personality disorder, and that is the one where the person has separate personalities. I should know, as my aunt has multiple personality disorder (are you scared yet?  ) But she is not schizophrenic. All three of her personalities are actually quite harmless, although I love two of them more than the other. One of her personalities hides things from the other two. Most of the time, she has a great sense of humour and jokes about her disorder. She’s the one who originally told me that saying, "Roses are red, violets are blue, I’m schizophrenic, and so am I." It was then that she told me that schizophrenic was the wrong term for it, but she still thought it was really funny.
And before you ask, I have no history of mental illness myself.  Although I seem to be surrounded by such people. |
