Generally, women act on whims much more spontaneously than men, making decisions on fleetings impulses rather than carefully thinking out the situation. Hence, women are generally less stable than men. Hence, women are more likely to make an ill decision than a man when said woman or man is in a position of power, because of a woman’s tendency to misjudge the situation due to her inclination toward acting on whims.
IMO.
So...explain Deborah in Scripture. I’m not against women in politics. Just Hillary.
BTW, are you saying that since most women act on whims, none of them should be in politics? That’s kind of a part-to-whole fallacy.
Deborah is the exception. She was specifically called upon by God, and she acted accordingly.
And I’m not saying that women should not be completely inactive in politics. I’m just saying that generally, men are the better decision-makers, and hence are better politicians. |

So...if a women is called upon by God, then she can be involved in politics? Okay, I completely agree. Many women are called by God to be in politics. Meaning that there is nothing wrong with women in politics.
The point is, there is a division of roles between man and woman, but that does not mean that man and woman operate on two completely different planes and never the two shall meet.
BTW, the arguments being brought up are also applicable to women voting, women holding jobs, etc. Hold to one, you pretty much hold to the other. |

A politician has more power than a jobholder, so I cannot agree. Generally, I think women should not be involved in politics, but I am all for women voters and jobholders, etc. I’m not saying that men are better than women, I’m not just saying that generally, men are better at being politicians than women are. |

Either way, it’s a generalization, and all generalizations are by definition false on the specific level. (Otherwise, they’d be facts, not generalizations.)
And besides, correct me if I need to go check my Bible again, but wasn’t Deborah a prophetess, not an actual politician? The verse (NIV) says she was "leading" Israel, but the footnote points out that this is most likely meant to be interpreted as "judging."
Personally, I know some women that would make a heckuvalot better US presidents than some men I know.
If all else fails, "Lesser evil" even if you don’t think women should be in politics.
For example:
Condi (or Hillary for you Pro-Hillary Democrats) running against Hitler--
Choice is obvious, methinks. |

i find that infanitly sexinst. if you think men are better dicision makers than woman, look at bush and try to say that he is a better dicision maker than a woman. i think that even *gulp* hillary would be better than him. and the sad thing is, she would be way better. and i dont care for hillary. at all. Woman could make a good president, but you guys dont know that yet. at least woman have an open mind to other opinions and can be convinced they are wrong other than a certain president i have in mind *cough*bush*cough* He is one bad president. i am not gonna lie. he has gotten us into sticky situations. but just because you know some woman who make dicisions on a whim doesnt mean they all do, and i bet you there are some woman out there that would make amazing presidents.
think of nany pelosi. she is a woman who is a speaker of the house. i think the first ever.
it matters not whether they are man or woman, a good president should have good ideas and reasoning. they should be smart too. the gender has nothing to do with it. |
