Regardless of whether you decide that ive killed you or not GT, not that its up to you as i write the script and believe me it was your house, youre struck off for 2 wrong accusations. You are no longer in this round. I do not cheat.

the birds were chirping outside and the sun was creeping through the gaps in the blinds. it was going to be a glorious day. another dawn another murder. i packed up my various blades and left the room.

after the long drive to officer Hippo’s house i stopped for a burger and parked up near his house. As i sat munching my way through the processed meat and fats i saw a flash of light reflect on something in the bushes. it was the barrel of a 9mm standard issue pistol. NO WAY. The cursed police were covering the house. HOW is the possible? I turned on the radio just in time to catch the latest news update.

......

My mood darkened even further. The headline was that the cops had recieved a tip off from a civilian that had been meddling in the case. It had important information regarding the serial killer on the loose. What was the point in having a force if they cant even solve their own clues? Protect and serve? Ha! a joke at best. How did this person know for a start i had phoned the police themselves, i chose deliberately not to make my riddle public. well there will be no more interference. What to do about it though, i think il.....

Sirens! Lights! Crap. It was a setup; squad cars were coming in from all sides, fortunately my mitsubishi eclipse was far faster than the standard police cruisers. foot to the floor i rammed the front of a barricaded car and broke free down the highway.

Revenge would be swift and brutal on the police.

But first there was something else to take care of....

As the sting team reflected on their missed opportunity, they picked up the fender that had broken off the assassins car in the collision. it had the number 31 on it.
It went amongst the increasing pile of evidence logged under ongoing investigation.

It had taken me the remainder of the day to call in some favors and snoop around to find what i was after, but at last i had the information i needed. while my car was in the spray shop i had made a quick phone call to check there was no mistake. the correct person answered. I hung up, claiming wrong number. excellent.

I pulled up in my new black colored car in the darkness of the street. with my night vision goggles i surveyed the scene. no cops this time i thought. well there wouldnt be would there? im not giving them a chance on this occassion. i slipped out of the car sliding the door shut quietly and made my way over to the house. my mark was sitting out back enjoying a cool crisp beer in the light of his patio. softly approaching him my heart was beating with anticipation so much i was afraid the noise it made would give me away. after what seemed an eternity i was behind the target. i could smell the aroma of hops from the Bud. it wouldnt have been a problem had i been wearing bells. several other bottles were lying by the chair. excellent. the blood will flow faster. i pulled my knife out and like a whirlwind drew it across the mans throat. there was no sound. no eyes capturing the mans final breath, a bat fluttered through the night, the only witness to this crime. the body slumped to the floor, skittering a few empties. I cleaned my knife on the mans shirt then i rolled him over to look into his eyes. ’No more interference from you my friend’ and i tucked a piece of paper into his pocket then left CG’s cooling body for the cops to find.

When the neighbors screams had stopped echoing through the quiet little suburb, because they had investigated where the flies were coming from, you could hear the faint whine of sirens heading to CarpeGuitarrem’s house. The sight they were met with wasnt pretty and it was almost too much for Korn’s stomach.

"Why would someone do this?" Korn asked to the world in general.
"He knew too much." replied Palantir.
"He save Hippos life." came the response from Hippo solemnly.

As the body was taken away respectfully, Barden noticed something in CG’s bloodstained pocket and removed it. examination showed it was a note in a non descript handwriting.

I hope this makes it clear there is to be no more meddling. i want you all to understand this; no more civvy help. you are quickly and foolishly running out of chances. you have already lost one member of your team and the squad almost lost another. lets hope for your sakes a third cop wont meet their maker soon. i think that out of all the clues i have previously given this one is the easiest. who knows if i have, or have not already chosen my next victim? it might be one of your loved ones. wouldnt that be tragic? but as sure as the sun will rise, i will make sure that someone else will horribly die.

What was the first ocean called?

By the time the police found the body it was cold and rigor would have set in, and i was loooong gone. i decided to get some food, rent a film and kick back and relax. there was plenty of time to dwell on the impending death of... now that would be telling.... haha. i have all the time in the world, the cops wont solve this one, and then it will be them to blame when some else is sent to autopsy.

Not sure if this will help any, but Incognito asked what was the first ocean called so I did a quick but of research (wel just skimming really) and came up with this Panthallassa. It goes on to say that is ancient body of water was an early precursor of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Not sure where the next victim comes in to this though. Maybe someone else can pick this up and we can figure this out.

I will go way out on a limb and place darkconstantine under protection, only because after I researched the first ocean and got a name I searched that name and stuff about Indonesia popped up and the phillipines are in the general area and from the members listed in that general area darkconstantine is the most active, I suppose. Just a guess, but darkconstantine is now under police protection.

Ahhh a fresh crisp morning full of opportunity. yesterday was fun. it was good to release a bit of the pent up frustration on that meddling snitch. but today.... today would be a masterclass in assassination.

as i got ready to leave my rented room, i looked for my various blades i had cleaned and sharpened the night before. i found my trusty hunting knife under the film box i rented last night. Ocean’s Eleven. Ahhh i love that film. bad guys winning. always a good recipe. the sequels werent so hot as the first but whatever. focus. theres a kill to be made.

the drive to the officers house was full of anticipation mixed with anxiety. had the cops figured out the next target? or would they fall prey to my riddle. i would soon know. I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach, the nervous excitement that comes before doing something fun but dangerous.

As i reached the victims house and parked my car, i reflected on being here only 4 days ago when i was foiled. this time though. o this time..... the house was quiet except for a light on, there were no cops and no visible protection. so the riddle was too much for their simple minds... they clearly had missed the hidden message decoded into my letter pointing to my new target.

then suddenly, some really interesting and slightly surprising news came across the station i was listening to.

"And in other news, Officer Barden, one of the special team assigned to the cobra assassin case, has been promoted due to a recent breakthrough in the case, now ranking higher than the previous officer in charge, Palantir."

Well well. This was an interesting turn of events. change of plans then. i fired up my engine and brought the eclipse round 180 and set off for my new mark.

At last i arrived at my new destination. early signs were good. not too quiet, not too suspicious. a full recon of the area gave no signs the cops were anywhere near here. fanstastic. i would get my reward finally. it didnt matter that my old target had escaped by a lucky twist of fate, the cops hadnt solved the clue anyway. i would get my spoils of victory one way or another.

Sidling up to the door i noticed a shutter blowing in the wind, and behind it the window was slightly open. stealthily i crept through it and softly landed in the kitchen. i could hear the sounds of TV in the next room. peering around the open door i could make out the outline of my victim blissfully unaware of his imminent, untimely, demise. this called for a real message to be sent to the police. i unsheathed my sword, it glided like silk through its scabbard. releasing my breath so the swing was perfect i brought the blade through a sweeping arc and it bit into the leather at the back of the chair meeting no resistance on its way. A line of blood splat across the wall and something rolled away into the dark corner of the room.

the headless body of Officer Barden slumped to the floor pooling red liquid. quite a nice cut if i do say so myself. and i didnt notch my blade, always a bonus. as the pool increased in size i took the opportunity to rub salt into the cops wounds....

a few minutes later i was back in my car and heading home. satisified with a job well done. i think this is the happiest ive been in a long time.

Korn had been trying to reach Barden all day. "Hes not answering his phone no response from his pager and his cell is off."
The room was quiet as the dread descended and the probable reason was becoming o so clear.
"I knew giving him a day off was a bad idea." said Palantir grabbing his jacket.
"Hippo think we should go check it out." added Officer Hippo as he tucked his piece in its holster.

They all piled into the squadron cruisers and set off lights flaring and sirens blazing. It wasnt far from Mr Hales house to the Bardens’ place. They at last comprehended that their hunch was wrong. Merrick was never the next victim they were wasting their time covering his house. it was probably too late.

Shortly they reached Barden’s house. They could hear the TV on and their hopes were raised. they wasted no time knocking just in case and the door wasnt locked so they went in. "Nick?", " Its us, Frank Sick and Nappy." There was no reply. The team pulled out their weapons. As they cleared the rooms one by one they came to the location of the TV sounds. the red puddle flowing into their vision bought their worst fears to life. they rushed around the chair, Korn was first there and with his weak stomach, threw up on the sofa behind.

"Christ its Barden." said SoP.
"Hippo feel sick too." said Hippo.

Korn went into a rage and smashed a table. " For gods sake, WHY???"

when their composure was gathered as best it could, they turned to the drying crimson pool. In it someone had drawn shapes which on closer inspection turned out to be letters.

k d f t b s g t h k z
i j a q v p l o o t t
r b j u y p s p e i o
i p f e n p i u x l m
t r n o e r s i q w z

g h u s n e x l k a
x e n j r n b v c c i
h y u f t e l x r p d
a f j h x t l a e i u
t o p l b a e s d m

this was a lot to take in after just seeing their friend and colleague decapitated, so it was only after Hippo glanced away he saw what was on the TV. It was a tape that had been edited so that a documentary sound file was playing but the screen was showing one thing. It was a flashing message that read:

"Rook Sat By Beckoned Ghost"

Korn ejected the tape and looked at it. it was entitled "Rhyming for Beginners".

"This case gets more complicated by the second." observed Palantir.

I cant quite remember a time when everything was going quite so well in my life. im doing the 2 things i love and couldnt be doing them better. confusing cops and killing people. lets see if these cops are clever enough to deserve to be assigned to my case. Will i be the first assassin to achieve what none of my predecessors have done; get away with murder?
