Once again, Lem0n has protected my victim. Cathy Droll, as Elf Lvr reasoned, is very close in pronunciation to “cathedral.” AC has mentioned several times that he is Catholic, and he recently mentioned that he is moving in the near future; hence, he is “hard to find.” Well done, Lem0n and Elf Lvr.

You have until this evening to protect my next victim.

Seven dogs.

Yours truly,
Incognito

Frank_the_Hippo found Incognito’s letter on the driver’s seat of his car.

You have until the night…

I had a suspicion it was due to AC’s religion and i only knew cos we have discussed we have our faith in common.

I have a hunch as to the ID of the killer but it cant be.... Think

Anyway. 7 Dogs? WTH?

Any thoughts coppers? Does anyone know if anyone on the forums has 7 dogs? I know its a long shot but google hasnt helped me with this one and i dont know what to do with it.

Some connection with wolves? Foxes? Cyotes?

...Wargs?

The list could go on forever like that....

Did a google search, and there’s about a trillion results.
Not that google seems very helpful this round.

Anyone write anything about a Wargs deck in the strategy articles?

Wargs possibly might help. Battlewarg? Nah he’s non existant anymore. Maybe some reference to the number of wargs there has been in LOTR TCG?

Do you suppose the people who keep finding the clues are close to the killer or know them being as theyre in quite hard to access private locations? Or maybe he is a cop themselves.

I now have 2 suspicions and 2 arrests... Hmmm...

Also what is with the line "you have until the night..."?? The killer already said you have until this evening so why repeat? Is that another clue? until the night.... dot dot dot what?

Did a search, and only 3 people have mentioned both the words "seven" and "dog" in the same post:
NBarden, FM, and, of course, Incognito.

NBarden’s is in a series of redneck jokes, and the two words are unrelated.
FM’s are also unrelated in a MTG post.

Dang.

The last two clues have been based on words/phrases which are similar to something else, either by substitution or similar pronunciation.

Seven dogs

saving dogs

saving hogs

sevendogs

7wargs

7wolves

Beowulf

70065 (7 =7, 0 = D,O 6=G, 5 = S )

7 4 15 7 19

Dogs 7

dogssevin

dogsdogsdogsdogsdogsdogsdogs

...I got nothing.

Community / Forums. Hmmm… apparently someone just made a new post. How ironic that they would be my first victim.

I disconnected the Internet connection and pulled the plug. The screen went black.

No way to find me…

I wrote the victim’s name down. On the floor, I spotted something metallic. Just a tool. I’m a carpenter, and this is my tool. I slid the tool into my pocket. My carpenter’s pocket. My carpenter’s tool.

I stood up and walked slowly to the door. The sky on the eastern horizon was the shade of palest pink. Only minutes before dawn. I started walking down the road.

”Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the black asphalt road.”

I felt the tool in my pocket. I’m just a carpenter, walking along. Just doing my job.

Here we are. My destination. The end of the asphalt road. My Oz. The house sat silently in the early morning mist. I broke into a run, grabbed the gutter, and pulled myself onto the roof. The window nearest me was open.

”Almost. Almost. Just a few more seconds, and the tool will be in the workshop.”

I squeezed through the window and landed softly on the floor. I was in a narrow hall. Steps were to my left, and an open door down the hall on my right. I approached the door slowly, then eased it open. His back was toward the door, and he was seated at his desk, occupied with something on his laptop.

I removed the garrote from my pocket. Twisting the opposite ends around my hands, I lunged toward him. The thin wire went over his head and dropped down to his neck. I pulled.

”Incognito says hello, AgentDrake.”

The metal cord bit into his flesh, and he could utter no cry. He tried to struggle but it was useless. Finally, his head slumped down onto his chest. I removed the garrote from around his neck and slipped it into my pocket again.

I threw a glance at the laptop screen. Very familiar. And ironic. Cobra Cards was open, and he was in the middle of typing a post. On my Assassin thread, no less. His message read:

“I think I have deciphered Incognito’s last clue. He is going to kill-”

A grim smile crept across my face. Now he knows. My eyes strayed to his desk, and I saw an open notebook. I tore out a sheet, then hastily wrote a message. Closing and locking the door behind me, I crawled back out the window, jumped off the roof, and walked away. I was gone.

The cops arrived two hours later, after AgentDrake’s next-door neighbor walked in and found his lifeless body.

My clue was simple: “Seven dogs.” “Seven” indicated 007, the number of the well-known British agent, James Bond. From this, you would decipher “Agent.” “Dogs” indicated Sir Francis Drake, a well-known 16th century English sailor. In that time period, English sailors were referred to as “dogs” or “sea dogs.” From this, you would decipher the word “Drake.”

AgentDrake nearly revealed my true identity, and he paid for it with his life. Anyone else who attempts to capture me will suffer the same fate…

My next victim will be dead by this time tomorrow.

Run hard into no end;
Hope after returns tomorrow.
Four-hundred and one, and a dozen more times: I called to you-
Vampire’s bite now Ended.
