| Hmm. First things first, Azrael is the Islamic name for the Angel of Death. On a hunch, I’m protecting MuslimKnight, although I suspect that there’s something deeper to be had here. (And this is assuming I’m a cop) |

Wasn’t he also one of the demons or angels in Paradise Lost?
Quote: In the darkness of the crypt, I lay
It is to Azrael I pray
Bequeath to me the ken, I say.
Well, Dracula lies in a crypt, and would conceivably pray to the Angel of Death...
el, maybe?
Interesting, though.
The Legend is on the wall, said she.
His signature is on the wall, said he.
The Answer on the wall will be.
Well, since I seem to be rapidly running out of time, I protect EL, who seems to be the obvious connection with vampires, gothic script, etc.
Doubt I’m right, but it’s all I see at the moment.
Edit: actually, at the last moment after I clicked "submit" I had an odd idea; I don’t want to protect el. Can I undo that? |

Too slow, gentlemen. In the few extra hours I gave, you made a decent start, but unfortunately the person who was closest to the truth (Carpe) had already protected someone. I think I must move on.
The body of DainIronfoot is found lying in his home, a look of utmost terror upon his face. No mark was made upon him, but he is very definately dead. But you can’t be SCARED to death... can you?
Carpe was quite close to the answer, it felt almost like cheating to close the game now. But... if only he had gone a little farther! Besides, as I mentioned, you were running on borrowed time, and he had already made a protection.
The answer... In my signature, it lay. Click on the "You’re Next" link.
To the next clue:
Around midnight, CarpeGuitarrem hears the phone ringing. He picks it up, and an oddly familiar voice says, "Admiral Cemetary. Look for me." Before Carpe can say a word, the caller hangs up.
Carpe has the call traced, but it leads only to a payphone near that cemetary. He quickly rouses the other cops, and gathers them to the Admiral Cemetary.
It doesn’t take long to find the statue, of a cowled and black-winged figure with a scythe. The Grim Reaper, the Angel of Death.
It stands above a headstone. The name is nearly worn off, but they can still make out: "L. Malfoy." The epitaph reads:
Remember, friend, as you pass by
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, you soon shall be.
So, prepare for death, and follow me.
Upon further inspection, they find two more messages scored into the tombstone and the stature. They read:
From the father to the son.
and,
Elizabeth’s Saint.
On the eve of December 18, someone will surely die. Unless... you can save them. |
Incognito. Professional Assassin.
You're next. |

Well L Malfoy has to be from Harry Potter. And the link from father to the son is surely Lucius to Draco.
On that very slim basis i protect Agent Drake. |

Yeah, it’s me.
"Admiral Cemetary" and "Elizabeth’s Saint" would both refer to Sir Francis Drake, I expect. |

I’m dead?
I guess that new Incog was worried about old potential competition.
Oh, uh.... *goes back to being dead* |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |
