Well, I’m back. I stayed at the tournament longer than NB, because I was doing speeches and interps too.
So nice of Incog to wait. |

Five cops, and all are present.
I hate to have to / cut the fun short / but the joke’s / wearing thin . . . / Let the audience in . . . / Let my opera begin!
It is Twilight. The Cops are in the Police Station.
Lem0nhead is drinking Orange Juice.
AgentDrake is humming a Tune.
DainIronfoot is cleaning his Pistol.
SickofPalantirs is playing Solitaire.
NappyKorn is eating a Chicken Leg.
They are all also carefully watching the Monitor Screen, showing the darkening Street outside.
The Streetlamp goes out, then returns on. Now a piece of Paper lies beneath a rock.
Lem0nhead goes to retrieve it.
The Paper reads:
“So... It is to be war between us! If these demands are not met a disaster beyond your imagination will occur.”
It is written in red Ink, with blocky, clumsy Handwriting.
Dain speaks: “Does this blackmailing gentleman actually expect us to give him ten grand? We’ve dealt with Dozens of Criminals, not least of which that Incognito Cult!”
As he finishes speaking, sparks fly from the Ceiling; the Lights die.
The Voice speaks. It is deep, resounding, hypnotic.
“I Am The Night.”
The Voice begins to sing, powerfully, angrily:
“You will curse the day you did not do / All that Incognito asked of you!”
The Voice speaks:
“The Saga Begins. There is another Phantom. On Wednesday, he dies.”

Yeah, same thing I was thinking. Probably a LOT of red herrings in there.
Let’s break down the best clue possibilities:
Quote: I hate to have to / cut the fun short / but the joke’s / wearing thin . . . / Let the audience in . . . / Let my opera begin!
.
.
.
You will curse the day you did not do / All that Incognito asked of you!
I lump these together only because they’re styled similiarly.
The breaks could be a clue in and of themselves, but more likely, they’re representing that this is a poem or psalm (song) of some kind. Incog mentioned that he "sang" the last part. Heh...kind of reminds me of Gravemind from the Halo game series.
Quote: It is Twilight.
.
.
.
They are all also carefully watching the Monitor Screen, showing the darkening Street outside.
The Streetlamp goes out, then returns on. Now a piece of Paper lies beneath a rock.
.
.
.
As he finishes speaking, sparks fly from the Ceiling; the Lights die.
Lots of references to darkness and night. I think the fact that the lights go out THREE times (night coming on, streetlamp going out, then the lights going out) is very significant. I just don’t know HOW yet.
An odd phrase choice, and particularly notable since it is in italics. The first thought I have is rather obvious--Star Wars--but I’m not sure how that’s helpful. I want to say it’s just a red herring, but its prominence makes it hard to rule out as a glaring clue.
Quote: There is another Phantom. On Wednesday, he dies.
Two things here. Number one, since "he" dies, we can probably rule out Shieldmaiden this time. The Phantom part is very interesting to me, and when tied to the "Twilight" clue above, gives me thoughts of Ringwraiths, or Wraiths in general. Again, noteworthy, but not immediately obvious what it means.
There is also a very odd capitalization style here. If I ignore obvious capitals like names, we get the following letters:
P S O J T P S C L M S S S P P (repeated word, so perhaps only one ’P’) D C C C L V
So again, that gives us PSOJTPSCLMSSSPDCCCLV and possibly a second ’P’...or more!
Because after that, the capitalization of "Am", "Night", "Saga", "Begins", and "Phantom" seem odd, but may or may not be related, since they’re parts of quotes. And "Voice", like the repeated word "Paper", may or may not mean we have a second capitalized ’V’ to work with, too.
Gah. So much info for just two days’ time. Anything else notable that I missed, guys? |

Well, that’s confuddling. To put it mildly.
I dunno if it means anything, but the line "You will curse the day you did not do all that Incognito asked of you" is paraphrased from Phantom of the Opera:
"You will curse the day you did not do / All that the phantom asked of you"
It seems like "another phantom" is part of the clue, especially since Incog is apparently a phantom.
Anyone else have some sorta classical monster/ringwraith/etc persona, avatar, or signature?
el maybe? iffy at best, but.... |

These are all perverted or direct quotes from "The Phantom of the Opera" musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. If you didn’t see the movie with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum which was VERY close to the original musical I HIGHLY recommend it. Very artistic and well done. Be sure to have a good sound system though...
With that in mind,

[/b] makes much more sense... Incognito is equating himself to the Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom Menace is lampooned in the Saga Begins by Weird Al, as SoP pointed out... therefore it is logical to protect M64 |

| I think officers might be missing an important clue still, though. Also, could be fishy, but I have some CC people on MSN, and my nickname is The Witch King. |

Isn’t that the "This here Anakin guy" song?
I think you’re right, but I noticed some other weird stuff, too.

Okay, so lemons and oranges are both citrus.
I went to England/Norway. The Viking Ship museum in norway has a ship called the "Tune" ship
Dain had that "Do you feel lucky" avatar with a pistol in it
Not sure how SoP and NK work out, but maybe eating a chicken leg has something to do with a napkin?
Or maybe I’m just reading too much into this stuff.... |

Menace is probably right...excellent deduction, SoP.
However, I still think there might be something to all those odd capitalized letters...though I still haven’t been able to make anything of it. An anagram, perhaps? |
