The Time has come.
NappyKorn spent the Day tagging along after bunnydaman, and encountered Nothing suspicious.
AgentDrake safeguarded Pipeweed, who sat around in a High. Drake did not arrest Pipeweed for possession of illegal Drugs; apparently the Smoke got to his Head as well, because he didn’t even notice.
Dain sat around guarding AgentDrake, because Pipeweed was in no Condition to do it.
SickofPalantirs played a rousing Game of LotR with NBarden.
Nothing out of the Ordinary occured, and all Cops were releived when they returned to the Police Station.
Relieved, that is, until NappyKorn heard a strange Sound.
AgentDrake had gone to get a Cup of Coffee.
As NappyKorn rushed into the adjoining Room, he found Drake staring down in Horror at a Corpse:
LeoKula is dead.
He was found, strangled to Death, in the Police Station. How he got there is unknown.
There was a Note beside him in poor Letters, written in red Ink:
Leo: Latin for Lion, which may be found in the open Meadows of Africa.
Kula: A region of Hawaii, and is Hawaiian for "Open Meadows"
My next Victim will be announced later. For now, you have a Funeral to arrange.

In the Interests of allowing thorough, and likely amusing, discussion, I shall allow an unusually long Deadline: until Sunday for this particular Clue.
The Cops were sitting in the station after a distressing Funeral for LeoKula, when an obnoxious Sound drifted in from the Street outside; the sound of a Banjo playing.
Rushing out, apparently desiring to silence the Chaos, Dain Ironfoot found only a small Tape Recorder playing the following song:
In a cavern, in a canyon, / Excavating for a mine / Dwelt a miner forty niner, / And his daughter Clementine!
Then it continued, switching to the Voice:
"My next Victim has Something in common with four of the following six Items/Persons:
-A nice, zesty Bottle of Italian Salad Dressing
-My Darling, Clementine
-The Keystone Kops
-The Novel Jurassic Park
-A Turtle
-Sherlock Holmes"
With that, a small "Pop" Sound was heard, and a packet of Acid burst inside the Recorder, ruining the Tape beyond recognition, unable to be traced.
Dain reported the Incident to the other Cops.

I recommend that you consider all possible References for each of the Six independently, then compare the six Lists to find who fits Four of Six.
It is, of course, up to you how you choose to make your Attempt.

The quote is very obviously from Barker Bradford’s 1885 Clementine. Jeez, it’s been a LONG time since I heard that....
Anyway, the Keystone Kops are apparently a 1912-1917 silent film series about incompetent police officers. Think Incog might be trying to tell us something here?
I know the novel (and film, for what it matters) Jurassic Park pretty darn well. Ussed to be a big Michael Crichton fan, and JP/The Lost World especially. Not sure offhand how it relates to any of the other things listed, though, except for there being obvious connections to turtles.
Well, Clementine, Jurassic Park, Keystone Kops, and Sherlock Holmes are all works of fiction, of course....
Beyond that, I wonder if the acid is significant. Probably not, judging by his/her patterns so far, but worth at least briefly considering. |
