Obviously a Gollum reference. The one interesting thing of note is that only the first three lines ("The cold, hard Lands, / They bites our Hands, / and gnaws our Feet!") and last three lines ("Our only wish? / To catch a Fish, / so juicy sweet!") of the total quote are used. The entirety is as follows:
The Two Towers wrote: The cold hard lands,
they bites our hands,
they gnaws our feet.
The rocks and stones
are like old bones
all bare of meat.
But stream and pool
is wet and cool:
so nice for feet!
And now we wish -
’Ha! ha! What does we wish?’ he said, looking sidelong at the hobbits. ’We’ll tell you.’ he croaked. `He guessed it long ago, Baggins guessed it.’ A glint came into his eyes, and Sam catching the gleam in the darkness thought it far from pleasant.
Alive without breath;
as cold as death;
never thirsting, ever drinking;
clad in mail, never clinking.
Drowns on dry land,
thinks an island
is a mountain;
thinks a fountain
is a puff of air.
So sleek, so fair!
What a joy to meet!
We only wish
to catch a fish,
so juicy-sweet!
So is the key in only the six lines used, or elsewhere in that passage? Or is it as simple as Gollum himself...which would lead to a natural conclusion of Menace again?
I think there may be a solid connection between the feet and the fact that the commercial changes to a shoe company. Last time we had a reference to shoes and feet (a different Incog, granted), it ended up being me thanks to the "Ironfoot" part.
This will bear some more thought and discussion before we start doling out protection. |

| I was thinking the same thing Dain. Maybe he is after the cop that saved Menace, what do you think. I cop that foils an assassins plans like SOP did could be a biting of the assassin’s hand, gnawing of their feet and perhaps Incognito is referring to the part about all the want to do is kill some like gollum/smeagol wants to catch a fish so juicy and sweet. Maybe we should protect SOP this round. What do you think? |

I dunno, the sop connection seems tenuous.
"Ironfoot" seems to make sense, also the full "song" mentions feet twice, plus a shoe commercial.
menace has a riddle sig, and a gollum avatar. The fish part could refer to a riddle, maybe? menace again? Incog seems to have it out for m64....
In fact, I dunno if it’s relevant (probably coincidence, but just maybe not,) there’s 24 lines in the full song. There’s two groups of 3 lines Incog gives us, so 2x3=6, and there’s 24 lines.... I must be reading way too much into this.
Trying to think of other possible connections.
Anyone have some sorta fish-related name/avatar? Maybe mm again with tuna, but that seems weak, too. |

I protect menace just in case though only based upon what you guys have said as i cant figure this riddle out at all. Im with you if it aint about fish or gollum, im stumped. Not sure if the shoe thing is a red herring a clue to the victim or a clue to the assasin.
O and i arrest AD. I have a feeling about some of the stuff so far. We’ll see.... |

First you have to wait and see if Incognito kills all the cops or he gets arrested. Then a new Incognito will be chosen, the thread will be split and a new game will be started. Just wait for the call for new cops and be one of the first to reply here that you want to be a cop. |

It is Wednesday. No-one has protected my Victim.
Fortunately for both the Cops and my Victim, I had no intention of actually killing him.
At 8:30am the Cops were sitting around the Table in the Police Station, arguing over whether or not I was really AgentDrake in a stupid-looking Opera Mask.
At that moment, a Crash echoed through the Station, as the Doors slammed shut, announcing a Visitor.
A barefooted Ellessar’s Socks burst into the Room and shouted:
"I want to report a Robbery! Someone broke into my House and stole all my Socks! And he left this stupid-looking Mask behind!"
ES held up Incognito’s Mask.
There was a stunned Silence.
"Oh," said DainIronfoot, who had been wearing a Bullet-Proof Vest, just in case.
"Waittaminute!" ES shouted, pointing down to AgentDrake’s Feet. "Those are them! He’s got my Socks!"
...As I, AgentDrake, was led away, the last thing the Cops heard was the opening strains of Past the Point of no Return....
Lem0nhead received the Cop of the Day Award.

Kudos to Lem0n. I had been planning to drop an ID hint today, with Sop’s help (hadn’t told him yet), but so much for my creative method of complicated PMs and conversation.

while the fact that the body got in the police station meant it had to be a cop, and though I already knew who you were, I was ruled out which left 4. then it just took a little creative copping.
