They spoke first:
They mourned over A;
They pleaded and laughed.

SoP correctly deciphered my riddle and protected Shieldmaiden.

Shieldmaiden was the first person to post in this Incognito thread (“They spoke first”). She also grieved over the fact that Anautikus has not been seen for a while, as can be read in this post (“They mourned over A”). And when Shieldmaiden made the first post in this thread, she said “Hey, don’t shoot the messenger…please!” followed by the laughing emoticon (“They pleaded and laughed”). Also, when “They” is removed from the beginning of each line, the first two vertical letters are “s” and “m” (Shieldmaiden).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shieldmaiden climbed into her car and pulled the key out of her purse. She slid the key into the ignition and was about to turn it when a police car rounded the corner of the block and screeched to a halt in front of her car. Officer SoP jumped out.

“Maiden! Out of the car! There’s a bomb!”

After getting Shieldmaiden out of the car, the cops discovered the bomb that I had rigged, which was set to go off when the key was turned in the ignition. They successfully disarmed the explosive, and my attempted murder of Shieldmaiden was foiled.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Macheteman pulled into his driveway and got out of his car. He walked to the front of the house and fished the key out of his pocket. Opening the door, he-

BOOM!

A load of buckshot hit him in the chest, knocking him back out the door. The barrel smoking, I lowered the 12-gauge shotgun and walked out the back door. Macheteman is dead.

My clue was:

The damned hare has been seen again
You’d better tell the second Náin.
The third generation down shall hear
Of the tale; you’ll find him, I fear.
Find the hare, he’s looking for the boarder.
Save the hare’s life; a mighty tall order.

This clue was a bit more complicated. Let’s start near the end. “Boarder” sounds exactly like “border”; as a good many of you know, Macheteman went on a missions trip to Mexico a while ago. Hence, border of Mexico. Now to the top: the second Náin is, of course, Náin II: father of Dáin I, who was father of Dáin II Ironfoot. Three generations down from Náin II are the children of Dáin II Ironfoot; in this case, Dáin’s (of Cobra Cards) kids. As can be seen in this post, Macheteman posted a picture of himself as “the Gangsta easta bunny.” In the following post, Dáin posted that he would tell his children one day that that is what the Easter bunny looks like.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AnxiousChieftain sat on his sofa, watching a documentary about Pope John Paul II. I stood outside, waiting for the right moment. I pulled the pin out of the grenade and heaved it through AnxiousChieftain’s window, then ducked for cover. The window glass tinkled as the grenade burst through it. Seconds later, an earsplitting explosion erupted from his living room. AnxiousChieftain is dead.

My clue was:

Go find the fellow on the ship named Ring.
His number is plain: 4924. He’ll sing.

Maybe if I put it this way it will become clear:

Go find the fellow on the ship named Ring.
His number is plain: 4924. He’ll sing.

The first line obviously indicates The Fellowship of the Ring. The number 4924 is from Ancient Chieftain, a card from The Fellowship of the Ring set. 4924 is Ancient Chieftain’s twilight cost, strength, vitality, and site number, in that order.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My next victim will be die on Saturday. You’d better hurry.

Aw, heck.

I even thought about looking for a card related to that final clue, but couldn’t figure how to translate that into set number, rarity, and card no.

At least we were right on SM.

I have no idea about the last one, unless it’s a Caesar cipher, and then we still gotta find the right letter to decode it.

EDIT: Found it. It’s a "Z" cipher, and it says "Nazgul Melodies"
Maybe it should be obvious, but I have no idea what that’s supposed to mean.

Who used to have the "dancing Nazgul" avatar based on Lost In The Woods? Remember that conversation? It was a few months ago, and I bet that’s it.

Well done AD, i protect el as i made him change his subtitle to Rhythmic Ringwraith.

Good work people.

O and assassin your mm clue was impossible. I could have sat up for 10 days straight and never solved that. The other 2 were cool.

Cheers

Then I’ll protect lem0n, since he apparently forced EL to use that name.

Anyone else connected to that we should perhaps protect? Maybe NB, since he likes Lost In The Woods so much.... Think We have other protections to dole out, so we might as well use them, just in case!

I protect NB, just in case. I’m pretty sure it’s el, though.

Makes sense.

I could see my victim. Perched atop a building across from the high school, I held my .30-.06 carefully, waiting for the right moment. I pulled back the bolt and a cartridge slid into the chamber. I released the safety and-

Stopped. Someone was walking behind my victim, someone that I recognized. I gazed through the scope at him. His head turned from side to side, looking carefully in each direction. His eyes turned toward the rooftop that I was on…

I threw myself down. This wouldn’t work. They had protected him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lem0n, you correctly protected EL. As Drake deduced, “Obahvm Nfmpejft” is “Nazgul Melodies”, when each letter is changed to the next letter in the alphabet. EL does indeed have the “Rhythmic Ringwraith” Custom Title, making him my next victim.

Two people will die on Tuesday.

Find him with the pick
Under the jade sky.
South? No, west of steel.

If you don’t know,
He does. Twenty,
Or five more?
Either way works.
