Well, at first I thought the first one was Dain, referring to Iron on the periodic table, which would be left of steel, and beneath jade.

But that can’t be right, since steel isn’t an element, and I don’t know whether jade is or not, but there’s nothing above iron anyways.

The second one, I expect is bib. No-one knows the rules like he does, and he is, after all, bibfortuna25.

Speakething of Mara Jade, it’s Jade "sky."

I wonder if that’s a confirmation that it’s Mara Jade? Skywalker?

And isn’t Iron one of the main components in steel?

Yeah, I protect Dain, but I agree;he very well may not be the target.

Oh jeez...I almost missed this entirely. Confused

I agree with my fellow officers, though. Bib and *gulp* me seem the most likely. I’ll see it if I can come up with anything else, though. May as well use all our protections, right?

EDIT: Unless I come up with something better, I will protect CarpeGuitarrem. The "pick" part leads me to think of guitars. A weak solution, yes, but the jade and steel parts just don’t lead to anything obvious except, well, me. Though CG’s custom-made avatar is kind of jade-colored.... Think

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Actually....

Don’t some guitars have steel strings?

And the background for CG’s avatar is a jade color, with what looks like clouds.

Glad you thought of that. I actually think that’s probably right.

Why yes. Yes they do.

Thank the Lord I have a music teacher as a wife. When I saw "pick", guitars were my first thought. And now, you’re right...I probably stumbled onto the right target!

Better lucky than good, eh? Razz

So it would seem. Laughing

But we should probably wait before we break out the champaign I confiscated off a drunk spammer during my other cop-ly duties.

Cops! Check your PMs!

Incog sent me this:

Incognito wrote:
SoP correctly protected bibfortuna25. My clue was:

If you don’t know,
He does. Twenty,
Or five more?
Either way works.

The first two lines referred to his knowledge of LOTR TCG rules. The “Twenty, Or five more?” bit referred to his username on these forums: bibforuna25; and on the Decipher forums, bibfortuna20.

Dáin Ironfoot correctly protected CarpeGuitarrem. My clue was:

Find him with the pick
Under the jade sky.
South? No, west of steel.

The first two lines are a reference to CG’s avatar: the guitar pick with the green (jade) background. The third line indicates his location. As a good many of you know, CG resides at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, which is west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a town renowned for its steel output. Also, the first letter of each line spells FUS, the abbreviation of the university.

Woohoo! Good job, team! Thumbs Up

A quadruple killing will take place on Friday. One clue has been sent to each of the four cops.

Four killings...yikes.

He didn’t say anything about not posting the clue here, so here’s what he sent me. Note that it was in white font, so assuming he did that for you, too, you will have to highlight it to see it.

Of these.

Jeez...I dunno. Menace64 is my first thought just because of the "M" and the numbers (which could be dialed). But I doubt that’s it.

Everyone else post their clues and let’s put our heads together.

P.S. - I LOVE the idea of PMing each cop part of the total clue. I was going to do that as my next clue when I played the role...right before I was arrested. Confused Anyway, hats off to you, Incog. Though it may have given me a clue as to YOUR identity.... That, plus having a working knowledge of the Decipher forums, as revealed in the reasoning for bib’s clue.
