technically, the round shouldn’t have even started, seeing as we don’t have 5 cops Laughing

have we gotten any identity clues? I have a few arrest ideas, but a clue would help.

I protect agentdrake.

Not sure I’ll have a chance to post again between now and the deadline, so I’ll protect Dain.

*sigh* I guess I’ll protect lem0n, then.

I, for one, am going to at least TRY to decipher these clues, though. It’s hurting my brain, but by God, I want to solve at least ONE.

I don’t know. I did find this, though, on Wikipedia:

The following items are traditionally associated with Aquarius:

* Birthstone: garnet, amethyst
* Colours: light blue, Yellow, Orange, Purple
* Gemstones: sapphire, lapis, topaz, beryl
* Metal: brass, Uranium, Platinum
* Countries: Northern climates: Canada, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, Iceland

Also mentioned that Odysseus is connected to Aquarius. This has GOT to be coincidence, but:

I’m a Viking Nut (this may not be common knowledge, but I do know that NB’s mentioned it a few times.) See the nations listed.... plus, I’ve been to Norway.

I wrote a parody of part of my life once, where I called myself Odysseus (the characterization was a crafty, but bitter and sarcastic cyinic.) I have no idea how on earth Incog would know that, so I’m 99% certain it’s cohinkydink.

The same clue has a lot of naval/aquatic connections, and more than one clue directed at me has made use of Sir Francis Drake.

I actually don’t think the clue points to me, because it really seems a weak stretch, but I honestly can’t come up with anything else.

Neither can I. *sigh* And I can’t make heads nor tails of the other clues, either.

This is just too frickin’ complicated. This guy’s just EVIL.

The restaurant had been booked solid for the last three weeks. Gate Troll had been called by his boss to arrive one hour early.

Not his boss, though. Me.

As Gate Troll climbed out of his car, I approached him. With a confused look on my face, I began:

“Excuse me, sir, but do you-”

With a quick movement of my forearm, I forced my elbow into his throat. Grabbing the back of his head, I spun him around and smacked his head into the side of his car. With a groan, he dropped like a lead weight.

I pulled a syringe from my pocket, removed the cap, and shoved the point in his neck. Easing my thumb down on the piston, pure cyanide flowed into Gate Troll’s carotid artery. Within minutes, he was dead.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My clue was simple:

5-12-1-22-14-21-4-21

When you use the A is 1, B is 2, etc., cipher, you get E-L-A-V-N-U-D-U. When the letters are reversed, it reads Udun Vale. As can be seen in all of Gate Troll’s posts and in his profile, his location is clearly listed: “Udun Vale, the Home of the one and only… Gate Troll!”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dáin Ironfoot walked into the restaurant surrounded by police escorts. I wasn’t going to touch that with a ten-foot pole.

Dáin Ironfoot was correctly protected in an act of desperation. My clue, although a bit difficult, should have been solved by Dáin himself.

Canst thou save him?
A man of the sea,
Bearer of Neptune’s light,
And Gabriel’s helm.

The first line means exactly what it says, but it is not a working part of the clue. The second line has more meat, though. As can be seen in Dáin Ironfoot’s list of Interests in his signature: “Occasional Gaming (Settlers/Seafarers of Catan especially).” Hence, “A man of the sea.”

The third line is much more simple. As everyone knows, Neptune is blue. And as most everyone also knows, Gabriel is a well-know angel in the Bible. What could be an angel’s helm? A halo, of course. Hence, “Blue Light Halo,” or something along those lines. http://www.blue-light.net/halotcg/. This is the website clearly listed in Dáin’s profile. “Blue,” “light,” and “halo” are all included. Dáin, at least, should have solved this one.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CarpeGuitarrem was leaving the Franciscan University of Steubenville. I was getting bored, so I had already cut his brake lines. A few miles down the road he reached the killer turn, then found out why it was a killer. His car plunged over the side of the cliff and flipped down the mountainside.

Good. Not so messy this time. My clue was:

Grab the phone,
And dial M.
There’s been one
Of these.

CarpeGuitarrem once wrote an article called “Dial T for Tentacle,” in reference to Hitchcock’s “Dial M for Murder.” Pretty simple. But anyway, he’s dead now. You failed again, cops.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NBarden’s body has never been found. Just to satisfy your curiosity, though, I hung him, then tied him in a sack with a few cinderblocks and threw him in a pond. Just so you know.

My clue:

Strangest of all time:
Gone. Tabitha is back
To take his the place
Of his.

When the Weirdest Avatar contest was held, NBarden won by using his face as an avatar. Now his avatar is a cat with an air rifle. And of course the cat might be a Tabby. Tabby cat. Tabitha. And if you insert “face” as the last word, it all rhymes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Truth be told, this is getting to be unspeakably boring. When you can’t decipher the clues, it’s “Oh! We can’t figure it out, so we’ll just protect each other and let everybody else die.” I am really not in the mood for making up more clues, so…

I do believe I’ll just kill a few random people over the weekend. Don’t worry, I’ll save the cops. “Save the Cop Leader, Save the World.” Or something like that.

I need to stay interested in this, so that’s exactly what I’ll do. There are a few people I’ve never liked much on the forums. I’ve already killed a couple of them, but there are a few more, and maybe I’ll kill some innocent ones just for fun. You never know.

Just so freakin’ vague, Incog. Had I known the one was me, I STILL don’t think I would have been to able to figure out WHY. The only one I MIGHT have gotten was CG...I almost DID protect him based on the potential link to "Dial T for Tentacle"...blast it all.

But at least this tells us something about you and your familiarity with things. Think

Okay, no more of this protecting other cops stuff, at least for me. I will do so ONLY if I think they’re actually the victim, as I don’t want to cop out (no pun intended d'oh!) like that again.

I know Incog said there were no clues this weekend, but I think he left one anyway. I’ve been harping on "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" as the silly slogan of the show Heroes for a while now, so based on what Incog said, I think someone should protect me and we should also protect several self-professed fans of the show. I’ll protect lem0nhead, since he responded directly to my comment on the "slogan". Looks like Menace64 and gil-estel should probably also be protected, at the very least.

now I don’t feel bad about this one, I WAS THE ONE WHO USED HIS FACE AVATAR! not Nbarden, so this clue was faulty.

whats funny is how close we were to CG, we just need one more step for GT, and then NB was impossible.
