Ah, forgot about "good" ol’ fred_the_llama. I was wondering what anything had to do with a "Fred". I was thinking Flinstone, maybe.

Any chance our llama friend’s secret identity sheds some light on this clue?

Or, perhaps more directly, if he has ever tried to "take over" anything?

Oil could have all manner of connections to real-world news, but I can’t for the life of me think of another "Fred" that has some connection to oil. "Vice" could certainly come into play there, too...vice president, vice director, vice admiral....

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Dang, I’m 99% sure who it is just from looking at the killings of me and my brother. If I wasn’t dead I’d tip off the police. Confused

Zombies are allowed, aren’t they? Razz

Fred... Fredegar.... Fatty Bolger takes over for Frodo, sorta....

Fred Flinstone... far as I know, doesn’t take over anything, but has to do with fossils... then fossil fuels?

llama could be said to have tried to "take over" some threads....

in MP’s Holy Grail, a bunch of llamas take over the credits, or something like that....

I was thinking Hippo, too, but he doesn’t really fit anything else....
[talking to self] Lem0n’s already got Dain protected, and Dain has SoP, so we don’t have to panic just yet....[/talking to self]

PANIC!!!!

Honestly, though. I still can’t figure it. I think maybe we’re looking at the math bit wrong; that seems to be rather easy to misunderstand, and it’s probably important.

no
yes
maybe
maybe
less
less
none
none
seven

...If there’s a pattern here, I’m missing it.

EDIT:
Wait, just thought of something.

After Fred takes over
Klondike’s resources
And total overall…

All this within the context of a "vice"
So... any sort of incident within the Chosen Ones that this could refer to? Some sorta membership vote, or rank change, or something?

Klondike’s resources could be oil... or riches. Or power, by extension. Heck, forget that extension, oil is used for energy... "power."
Total overall? Zeven or 13, maybe.
Was there a power struggle or power pass-off at some point when there were either 13 or 7 members (probably 7)? If so, I’m guessing that the Vice Arko-whats-its at that time is the next victim.

Then yes, it’s probably SoP. NBarden became a more controversial Vice near the end, but he’s already been killed, hasn’t he? Yeah, just checked...bottom of a pond or something. Oops. Embarassed

The Chosen Ones never had 13 members...but it DID have 13 ranks. And yes, it had seven members. So I think we’re on the right track, unless this is just a great coincidence.

So assuming the link is, indeed, the Chosen Ones, it HAS to be me or SoP, and I bet it’s SoP.

Not sure who else to cover, as I can’t think of another solid link either.

My clue was quite simple, and Lem0nhead correctly Dáin Ironfoot.

One time they said no.
One time yes.
Two times maybe
But two times less.
None for him,
And none for them.
Seven for a whim.
Grand Theft Auto City.
After Fred takes over
Klondike’s resources
And total overall…
Really?

The first seven lines each contain a number. In order, those numbers are 1, 1, 2, 2, 0, 0, and 7. When the numbers are put together, they form: 1122007. As you probably recognize now, “2007” is a year, which leaves “112” remaining: January 12. So the first seven lines are deduced to say “January 12, 2007.”

The eighth line, as Dáin Ironfoot himself pointed out, is missing the word “Vice.”

When the first letter is taken from each word in the last four lines, the word “Aftokrator” is spelled. Put all three sections together, and you get January 12, 2007, Vice Aftokrator. As can be clearly seen in Dáin Ironfoot’s signature and profile, his join date is January 12, 2007, and he is the Vice-Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones.

I do not know when my next killing will be. I also do not know how much access I will have to a computer for the next few days. This will give the cops time to contemplate my identity and find a fifth cop.

I will be back.
