Hussein’s gone...

Exactly. We see our selves as having to help the entire world when we don’t. Take Hussein out, even set up their government for them, but when they don’t want it and keep fighting, then there’s nothing we can do.

Ok.... d'oh! how did we help (I say we, cause The Netherlands were sucked in to it as well-? Without asking we invaded Iraq, put the whole country in a mess, never found weapons of mass destruction, and now state that we helped people by removing Hussein and put in a democracy? Democracy should be worn by the people, not put upon them! If we invaded the country, we are responsible for the mess we’ve created.
It is a too complicated situation to say that removing Hussein was what the country needed. The vacuum created by the removal of Hussein is filled by others....
I think the US should interfere less with other countries. What if an Islamic Coalition would state that the US has WOMD and that people suffer from the capitalistic regime they have.......It is all a matter of perspective. Someone who blows himself is considered a terrorist, in the eyes of the others just a desperate person trying to make a sacrifice for his people. Don’t be eager to judge upon others.....

show me, tell me, I want to know! And even if so, who should judge upon who is to bear WoMD? That is a serious question. Because if the reason is that the other side (Islamic world, Communist world) is considered a threat for us, the ’free’ world, that reasoning could easily be reversed....what if they consider us a threat and invade our countries......

thats the crucial question isn’t in?

but then again,we have never used them on our own people in our own country.

it was a very complicated situation, to be sure.

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

and don’t get me wrong, I’m not backstabbing or what so ever. I hear just too many people screaming and shouting in a blunt way. This situation, and world politics as a whole imho, is such a complex thing, that we should be reluctant to mingle. I wish Utopia excisted...sigh...

He who has the most money/biggest army/most international clout makes the rules. Its a law of how society works. If they feel we’re a threat, they can try to invade us. But, who will come out the winner, I wonder. Think

OR, we can determine this through absolute right and wrong. If you have that, then it is plain to see. But in culture today, there is no right or wrong, thus, society is fragmented.

Now the practical answer. We use WMD as deterrent, referred to as MAD. We have signed treaties swearing not to use them.

GE, let me ask you this. If someone was going to nuke the Netherlands, and you had reason to believe that they were working on developing weapons to nuke your country, your city, and otherwise attempt to kill YOU, would you feel it would be wrong to disarm them of those weapons? Now put yourselves in America’s shoes. There are radical people developing nuke/bio/chem weapons (I do have info on that, just not easily accessible, will bring it up later) and they have sworn that they want to kill us. They chant down with America and vow to kill as many as possible. They attacked us, they have bombed our ships, and this was all before 9-11. The US Gov’t, which has sworn above all to protect its citizens HAS A DUTY to disarm the threat.

What kind of an answer is that? If it was utopia then you would have freedom. Thats why it’s a utopia.

And NBarden you stated that the Americans had found WMDs in Iraq but no one has ever produced any evidence. If America has some secret its never shared it with the rest of us. I don’t want to sound too angry but I am but here in England it was America’s intelligence that there were WMDs ready to use in Iraq that persuaded us to go to war. When it turned out there were none it turned many people against our ’special freind’ across the water. I don’t hate America as much as some people here because I lived there when I was younger but many people here see America as extremely arrogant and that you view us as simply a constant subserviant ally who’ll just do what you say. Still others see America as the spoiled child that hasn’t quite grown up yet as we have. Remember these aren’t all my views I’m just stating that Iraq has done huuuuuuge damage to the way British people think of America.
