Lem0n, so pretty much you’re saying...
1. 10-yr olds hear it already. So? Does that make it right? Just because everyone does it doesn’t make it right. I’m not going to say he’s never heard it, because he has, so, hey, why not just teach our kids’ first word to be the f-bomb. Cuz they’re gonna hear it anyways.
2. Its not as bad as the f word. Uh, maybe not in Britain. But over here it is. And anyways, rape isn’t as bad as murder anyways, so its justified.
3. MR Lurtzy got away with it. Even if he did, then it still doesn’t make it right. IIRC, I got a little upset at him for using it.
I’m willing to continue this debate.
@LeoKula: Okay. Well, its fun for me to do a lot of stuff that offends people. Matter of fact, I love burning Brazillian flags. And if you don’t want me to do it, tough. Its fun.
The point is, its offensive, and if you want to do it, don’t do it in places where its likely to offend people. Or result in them NOT being allowed to participate in what’s supposed to be a family friendly forum. |

What is the whole point of cursing? It basically shows you have little self restraint. And LeoKula, cursing is fun because it is wrong. And lem0n, it is really
horrible logic to say that saying *** is acceptable because "i hear it every single day of my life." There is no need to expose young children to vulgar, immature language. In short, profanity is a matter of preference and when
someone asks you to not swear, it is very unthoughtful to refuse. |

You like burning brazilian flags I like saying ass so tough.
So you got heated at Lurtzy for saying it? You dont hassle him like you do me, and mods dont threaten him. So back off.
And TJ I have a degree in Chemistry and Computer science, I’m not uneducated because I happen to call the bottom an ass.
And NB no it doesnt make it right but I dont thing ass is wrong either. F is wrong. I wouldnt expose little kids to that GT and I never said I would. |

Hey, I don’t get as upset at you as I do at him, trust me.

As I said, it may not be considered wrong in Britain, but in America we have a different standard. I’m not going to argue which one is right, but these are American boards based in Austin, TX USA with primarily AMERICAN kids on them so the AMERICAN standard should be the one used. |

I’ve actually run searches on NBarden’s posts just to figure out which ones he uses and therefore which ones are acceptable to him. Looks like "darn" and "heck" are okay... I think.
I don’t mind vulgar words when they’re used sparingly and for humor value or emphasis. Some sentiments just don’t have the same effect otherwise. Even then though I personally tend toward the soft kind (-iggin’, -ickin’). When someone can’t piece a sentence together without using swear words like a kindergartener using Elmer’s glue, that’s when I start making not-nice assumptions.

Whoa, hold on there cowboy! I don’t think that this is my thread unless a mod deleted my opening post and changed the title. |
