First off let me say that I very much enjoyed the Da Vinci Code. The Da Vinci Code is a well written work of fiction by Dan Brown that tries to convince us otherwise. I think the thing that gets so many people on a tilt is that he weaves in just enough fact to make us take a good many of his more questionable points at face value rather than investigating it for ourselves.

Due to all of the hype surrounding The Da Vinci Code, my church has been doing a series on it, Truth, and the accuracy of the Bible. You may be interested in hearing or seeing the sermons which can be found here:
Searching for Truth in the Da Vinci Code

Good info. The errors in the story don’t prevent me from enjoying a well crafted story.

Very good points. The book is meant to be read as a fiction for entertainment purposes. The craziness of believing it would be like believing middle-earth existed... Heh, hope no one’s offended Smile

Gogo Bible.

Now that we all have pointed our fingers at the da vinci code and screamed "blasphemer!"

Yes, it’s a stupid book... but I’ve been having the most trouble with another book recently the lil book called "The Book of Mormon." Another testament of Jesus Christ??? No. I’m so tired of these stupid commercials............

What Middle Earth doesn’t exist? d'oh!

Also I would like to point out that the main gospels have may copies that were made of them before 2000 A.D. on the other hand the Judas Gospel has only one copy and was made probably after 250 A.D.
Unfortuantly some people have taken it seriously.
Also the Da vinci code is a completely a piece of junk.

Choice C) None of the above. I don’t believe either are completely true. By the same token I’m sure both of them are at least partially true.

"On the other side of the Jordan" was obviously not written by God (check the old testament I don’t remember which part) and so I’d appreciate none of the God is perfect so the bible is because God wrote it stuff. I won’t debate on God because I and you all can’t know for sure anyways.

God didn’t write a word of the bible... he just influenced those that did.

I agree 100%. Brown obviously did a lot of research to write this book. He takes very true facts of the history of Paris and such, then begins to throw in falsehoods trying to get the reader to automatically believe them.

This is off the topic a bit, but is anyone doing the 30 Hour Famine this year?
I had to put something here.

This whole forum is off-topic, that’s OK. Laughing
