| The Bible was written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Period. |

See, this is the kind of stuff I’m talking about. There’s no proof AT ALL of that. Like I said, some things in the Bible DO have historical respald, but the rest is just a question of faith. I don’t question people’s faith and beliefs, but that DOES NOT make ANYTHING in that book true. What IS true, is true, and what’s NOT true, simply is not. People choose to believe it, but that does not make it true. |

As a christian, I believe it is true, but Felipe is right, we have little solid proof. Beyond that, its a question of faith. You believe it, or you don’t. Just because there’s no solid proof, doen’t mean it ISNT true but it still doesn’t mean it is...
Personally, I think the Big Bang Theory sounds like a bunch of nonsense. One of my favorite authors put it this way: "In the beginning, there was nothing, which exploded." It just doesn’t make sense to me... but its just a matter of what you believe, I suppose... |

Absolutly! Big Bang IS a bunch of gibberish, too, in my opinion. People tend to fantasize what they don’t know for sure. It happens with the Bible, with the Alkoran and with science, sometimes...
I say we drop the subject, and just admit that, as a matter of fact, there is little things that we DO know it’s true... |

| Yah, I’m sure we could argue on about this type of thing for years, its best to just drop it for now. |

| Yeah, this could go on for years. If it is to be debated, it should be debated by experts who know the facts. |

I believe there was no beginning, sounds weird but I believe it. Since I went to college and studied geography, even though they all believe it, I’ve ben thinking in regards to global warming. Everyone is talking about the end of the worldand how things are going to blow up, etc. But I don’t believe that. The world (both physical aspects as well as the non-phyical aspects) go about doing things that rejuvanants itself. The earth as a whole goes through cycles, global warming being one of them (the list goes on an on day/night, hurricane/tornado season, el nino/la nina, inner cell circulations, forest fires, etc, etc).
So with the new headlines of global warming and a climate change appearing, it’s just a cycle. The earth’s temperature is raising because of it’s closeness to the sun and as such, certain side effects occur. Do not get the wrong impression, it’s not human activity that is causing this, it’s a natural cycle (humans just so happen speed it up a lot). So because of this rising temperature, global side effects are beginning to occur and the earth needs a way to reset itself, and that would be an ice age. The problem is, we, as well as all living creatures, will be in harms way and have some problems. Normally, we might be able to adapt (as well as those poor poor polar bears) but this is happening top fast for evolution to take place. But thats assuming we can evolve since are technology has weakened us (but we’re living creatures so we should be able to adapt).
So what will happen here? Everything will be reset, basically. Will humans die off? perhaps.... but maybe not. But a lot of animals will die off, that’s for sure. But the earth will not go away, and life will still exist in some way, much like it did last ice age. Perhaps evolution wil l take the remaining humans and adapt them to their sorroundings, or perhaps a single species has enough to continue life and beginning evolving for what may be the dominate species of the next..... millions of years.
So basically, what I am saying is, there is no end, it’s just going to keep being recycled. SO just like they say about "god" there was no beginning and there is no end, he just was. In the same sense, I feel that way about the earth. However, I do have some tilt towards big bang theories, but it seems implausible and too sitautional for trueth. So where does god fit in on all of this? He doesn’t, cause he doesn’t exist. Perhaps he did in the past, perhaps we are some science experiment when mold or something was placed in a cup like on the simpsons. Perhaps the man who created the experiment watched from a distance and spoke to people, but regardless... if that was true or not... god is dead. The earth, howeevr, will go on forever, but we will not. The earth, our environment, society, and ourselves are the deciding factors in what we do during are everyday life... not some old man in the sky (or whatever your depiction of "god" is). |
