Ok who said it was? What gave you the right to assume you’re better than everyone else, just because youre larger and powerful? How can you say what your country’s job is? ok, let’s test your knowledge... do you know of a little thing called the "Cold War" in which communistic nations were oppressing nations, not by these nations own will, but rather by force.... It was because of America having to hold the torch because other nations weren’t. you see, one nation had to take up the stand, because other nations were being appethetic and pathetic and were not completing the jobs they were supposed to do.
you see it also started in 1776 when America declared itself to be and independent nation. We took on the role of freedom, and took on the role of spreading the "light of freedom to the world".
We are also a nation, (one of the very few that backs Israel, and therefore this puts us in a position to aid them immediatly).
I don’t expect y’all to understand what we have over here, I don’t expect you to understand the responsibility we feel.
the way you are making this sound is like everything is relative... I doubt you want to go there.
How self rightous is that? How dare you talk down to us? You make out that America is always the first and only to make a stand whereas in actuality that is rarely the case. What about World War 2? Because the pure and simple fact is that you didn’t give a damn about the freedom and lives of the people of Europe for two long years. You didn’t care about all the people oppressed by the Nazi’s you just made money off of it, which is after all what America loves to do best. Only when you’d been attacked and it was all suddenly about you did you decide get off your asses and help. Britain on the other hand, we took a stand. We didn’t enter the war for any political or economical gain or even because we were attacked we entered the war because we had promised to help Poland if it was attacked. We stood against the Nazi’s because of our principle, something we have done time and time again against the Spanish Armade, against Napoleon, against Hitler and against the Soviet Union. As for the Cold War what did you expect Western Europe to do? We were totally wrecked by the war our first priority had to be rebuilding our country’s and trying to get over the extreme hardship of a six year war. I have found when discussing war with Americans that they don’t really understand what its like to have a war that really hits the nation hard. Sure the deaths of soldiers are hard on a nation, and I am in no way diminishing the American soldiers who died as my Great Grandfather was one of them. But has America ever experienced the terrors of the Blitz or the hardship of living in a besieged nation. There hasn’t even been a war on American soil since the civil war. Do you not understand that the only country which made a profit from World War 2 was America? The escalation of the war industries at the start of the war pulled you out of the depression, you were rolling in it after the war (especially after the disgusting act of cancelling lend lease to both Russia and Britain so soon after the war that both nations were crippled financially for years.) Why do you think Russia thought it needed to oppress loads of nations and take all their resources? Because it had just taken part in in the most destructive land war in history, over 20 million Russians were killed over the course of Operation Barbarrossa, it had no money left and most of its cities were mere shells. Now I am not trying to excuse the Soviets cos what they did was still wrong but I have made an effort to understand why and to see it from their point of view. I know that this post has been long and rambling and has left the point a lot but your post just made me so angry because you just don’t understand and you probably never will, things are never truly black and white in this world and very rarely are there really good guys and bad guys. Both America and Russia were responsible for the cold war (I will explain if you really want but I don’t want to cos its long, I did a whole year long personal project on the subject of ’Who was responsible for the Cold War’ so I know what I’m talking about.) You have to try and understand other people and at the end of the day that is probably America’s biggest problem. |

Thank god someone with awesome facts can put these self righteous little misguided fools to task. I was going to post an argument myself expressing outrage at the conceitedness of them and their nation but felt like i was  cos they’ll just find something else to announce they are the saviours of the universe. Self proclaiming yourself as the best nation at anything is criminal especially as you’re so misguided in thinking youve actually helped the world in any shape or form.
Who is actually thanking allied forces at the moment for anything?
Get over your blind love for your nation, be patriotic by all means, Britain has made many mistakes but I still love my country, but dont label yourselves things that just arent true. |
